The Tobacco Prevention Toolkit

Educators are encouraged to pick and choose which lessons will be most useful for their students and adapt activities to suit their needs. You will find that the PowerPoints, worksheets, and activities can all be altered as desired. Please also review the Crash Courses included in certain modules for more information for educators and parents, and please see the Resources section that provides additional information and websites that are relevant to educators, parents, youth, and others who are interested.

CATCH My Breath
(CATCH Global Foundation)
After principal confirmation, program materials are sent to a school. Materials include:
• Online Curriculum
• Teacher resources and evaluation tools
• Printed CATCH My Breath posters
• Parent Materials
• Implementation support from the CATCH My Breath team
Can be taught by teachers, tobacco educators, counselors, or nurses. The curriculum includes active student-centered learning facilitated by peer leaders.
10-18 Years (Grades 5-12)
Online Curriculum consists of:
4 Lessons (30-40 min each)
• 4 lessons for each middle school grade (12 total)
4 lessons for high school

ASPIRE
(University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center)
ASPIRE is a bilingual, online tool that helps middle and high school teens learn about being tobacco free. It explains the dangers of tobacco and nicotine use, so they never start smoking. Or, if they already do, it gives information and ways to quit.
Middle & High School
Students earn a certificate of com-pletion upon finishing the program.
Teachers/Admin can see students’ progress by logging into the Admin site.
