Meet our educator:
Patty Young
For Sexual Health Education I primarily use Advocates for Youth’s Right, Respect, Responsibility curriculum (www.3rs.org) and Planned Parenthood’s easy to understand videos and information (www.plannedparenthood.org/learn). By utilizing these and other medically accurate, unbiased resources I am able to provide sexual health education that covers sexuality, puberty, reproductive health, consent, healthy relationships and more! I cater my classes to the students and always leave time for questions. Not telling the students what they should do, letting them decide for themselves while offering the most up to date information.
To coordinate sexual health education in your classroom please contact Patty Young at pyoung@alliancemed.org or call 707-494-9990.
Meet our educators:
Abigail Barajas and Yazmin Homar
Santa Rosa Community Health is providing FREE evidence-based education that complies with the California Healthy Youth Act; to schools that meet the qualifications. The curriculum we use is called Making Proud Choices, an 8-module curriculum that provides adolescents with the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV, and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms if they choose to have sex.
Currently, we teach at some Santa Rosa School District high schools, Roseland District middle and high schools, Wright District, and some special education through SCOE education department.
If you would like to coordinate health education sessions for your school, please contact Abigail Barajas at abigailb@srhealth.org or call 707-495-1906.
