Delegates’ Debate on Social Disruption caused by Colonisation

The (Economic and Social Council) ECOSOC started the formal session with GSL provided by the delegate of Russia (Kabya Adhikari) stating its contribution and activities on modern economic and social structure. The discussion diverted to exploitation of resources, and cast division resulting in the social disruption in the region of India along with several Arabian countries. The question raised by the delegates against the speech provided by the delegate of Saudi Arabia (Sakchyam Ghimire) was unanswered.
The committee proceeded to a moderated caucus on” Social disruption caused by colonization” raised by the delegate of Russia. The delegate of Russia presented his view raising concern on historical colonization, racism, and slavery. The delegates of Russia (Kabya Adhikari), Japan (Sheewin Shrestha), India (Puspa Dhakal), South Africa (Sohan Tamang), United States (Sujan Subedi), and Ukraine (Kareen Neupane) were accused of the particular problems.
“During the Soviet era, the excessive industrialization supported by the Russian empire led to death of Ukraine civilians due to starvation” The delegate of Ukraine stated.
The accusation was dismissed by the delegate of Afghanistan (Shreejit Shrestha) claiming that the past evidence does not relate to present Russia which is a “democratic nation” at the moment.
“Social programs in Ukraine are backed up by black money and corruption” The delegate of Afghanistan accused the delegate of Ukraine. “The government is preventing aid to reach to the civilian who need it the most”
The delegate of Ukraine provided the data stating that 25% of the economy is used on resolving social issues. The accusation of Afghanistan was considered vague with no backup with data.
The delegate of Ukraine further accused that despite Russia’s vast resources, income inequality remains a significant issue in the nation. The delegate’s statement was backed up with several accusations provided by the delegate of Afghanistan and the Delegate of Germany (Samyog Jamarkattel).
The committee was involved in a heated discussion about socio-economic issues and the environmental crisis. Afterwards, the committee faced a crisis on the topic “France and Usa manipulated Ukraine and Bangladesh which worsened their economic stability and social tensions in the country” the delegates included in the crisis had a tense debate addressing each delegate.
