Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the Human Rights Council Committee organized at The Excelsior School. We are honored to have you all here, and we are sure that this committee will serve as a stage for significant discussions and actions toward promoting and protecting human rights.
I am Slesha Panta, the Chair of the HRC committee, who will certainly provide guidance and support during the discussions. As the Chair, my responsibility is to cultivate useful discussions and ensure that each delegate's conclusions are acknowledged and esteemed. I am eager to meet your desires as the chair.
Model United Nations is a stage given by our school that points to empowering the delegates and their committees, empowering delegates to take an interest in diplomatic talk and negotiations. MUN has been one of the foremost important stages in my life where I got a chance to learn about international affairs, diplomacy, and human rights. It has taught me to express my opinion unquestionably, which is also a reason why I am standing before you as your chair in TESMUN 2023. I also went through stages amid my designations, from a calm, under certain young lady in a corner zoning out to a confident young lady talking valiantly, even with a shaky voice. I get it that it can be scary to talk before others, but believe me, everybody feels that way at the beginning. The key is to hone and construct your certainty over time.
As your chair, I empower and encourage all of you to talk your minds transparently and fearlessly amid the committee sessions. Your thoughts, conclusions, and points of view are important and essential for productive discussions and the formulation of successful solutions.
We're all here to learn and grow together, and I'm excited to see what thoughts and solutions we are able to come up with as a committee. Let's work together to make this an effective and productive experience for everybody involved!
Best of luck delegates! -Chair
