Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
As I stand before you today , I recall the popular song written in 1929 by Milton Ager & Jack Yellen.
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
Sunny days are here again!
Today , we are commencing TESMUN 2024 . It is my utmost pleasure to offer you a very special welcome in the beautiful auditorium of the excelsior school and voice how glad I am to be Your secretary General this year.
For over a month , we have been rigorously preparing a conference that is worthy of being named “The Excelsior school’s MUN” .But seeing all of you today right now , I can rest assured that all of the work has not and will not go to waste. Thank you to the organizing committee; the press, the logistics and the iT team for their help and the stern and hardworking dias panel for making this conference possible .I am proud to say that TESMUN is one of the most diverse programs held in our school , giving true meaning to the spirit of MUN: alliances, understanding and negotiations.
It is my honor to stand before you today as an example of someone who did everything in her power to make sure her voice was heard and acknowledged and valid. So Today I urge you to do the same . This year's theme, “Peace and coexistence” dwells on collectively coming together to a peaceful resolution. Scribble your pens furiously , make your points logically and voice them boldly all in the name of peace and coexistence.
It has taken me well about two years to get a chance to have this conversation with you. I remember being a new delegate like it was yesterday. Entering the committee halls , terrified. Nervously making articles with the CPN-Maoist logo and the delegation of Pushpa Kamal Dahal attached to my name. Within ten minutes I had figured out that I wanted to be standing in the podium , with the Secretary General’s badge pinned to my to saree , addressing the crowd full of delegates as myself and so two years later here we are , finally getting a chance to have this conversation.
Teachers and delegates, Today put yourselves in the shoes of the little family in war . As we are standing in this polished auditorium with our fancy dresses and big words, a child’s dream is dying and a mother’s heart is aching . As we dip our bread in tea, the family hasn't eaten for days. As we take long hot comforting showers, the water there can hardly be considered drinkable. As we talk about plans and policies, political leaders are busy counting stacks of money . It is right to say, The world is at war; a humanitarian-socio-economic-environmental-politic war . Where even a small trigger can set off a nuclear bomb.
I cannot emphasize enough how important you are, delegates . During this conference , we are having conversations the world is refusing to have. We are coming out of the secluded corner , the world has stuffed us in and becoming the voices of those with aching throats. Today, release how your small hands are pulling the harsh ropes of reality . Realize the weight of your light-weighted placard. Realize that when you raise your placard, you are stronger than the people in power who choose to ignore the pressing issues.
As I leave this podium, I have something to tell you, that we have a very common misconception about humanity. When we think of humanity we think of those who died in war. Or those that make intense sacrifices to bring the world to peace. We think this is all humanity is . To be human , you need to do something drastic. But as we are living, we forget, Humanity is also smiling at a stranger . Humanity is also your brother saving his favorite piece of cake for you . Humanity is opening the door for a stranger and saying “after you, sir.” Humanity is wrapped as your favorite piece of candy you choose to give to the crying child. And my fellow diplomats , humanity is also speaking up. Speaking up for yourself and speaking up for those who can't . So today , be not just a delegate, not just a diplomat , most importantly, please be a human.
As Your Secretary General, I always wish the best for you , the committees and for peace and coexistence.
Goodluck Delegates
Honorable The Secreatary General, Ms Sadikshya Lohani . Honorable principle , Mr Prasant Rajak , managing director Mr Ram Basnet , Madam Sheetal Rana , The MUN coordinator , Mr. Govinda Gautam Respective Dias panel , The organizing committee and the enthusiastic delegates ,Greetings from the IT head , or should i say , "hello , world".
It is an honor to stand before you today as Preshak Paudyal, the IT Head of this Model United Nations conference. Over the past few weeks, we have strenuously worked to perfect the formula of MUN. The teachers have been frantic, The Organizing committee, as busy as a bee and the delegates indulged in research. But nevertheless, we have come together with a common goal, A Goal to simulate diplomacy, engage in thoughtful debates, and explore solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues.
And I am so honored to be a part of the organizing committee and to have gotten the privilege to manage the IT team.
I have been a part of the excelsior school for 6 years and if you had approached a very young Preshak Paudyal and told him that one day he would be standing on the stage, with a sharp coat, reading to take on any technological hurdles, he would not have believed you but here i am today and here you are, ready to take on the world.
Finally, I would like to thank the entire IT team from the bottom of my heart for their hard work and dedication, which have been crucial to the success of this conference. In addition, I want to express my gratitude to the chairs, the organizing committee, and most of all, the delegates themselves, for your enthusiasm, ingenuity, and unwavering dedication to making this MUN experience truly remarkable.
Before we wrap up TESMUN 2024, let's take a moment to watch the closing ceremony video.

These two simple words carry the weight of everything I’ve experienced throughout this session.
Truly, what a whirlwind TESMUN 2024 has been! From the opening ceremony jitters to this moment right here, it’s been a few extraordinary days. We’ve debated, we’ve negotiated, we’ve had crises, both in the committees and occasionally in the press room & IT room, and through it all, we’ve come out stronger, wiser, and dare I say, even more diplomatic!. I still remember the first day when we all walked in with nerves, excitement, and anticipation of what was to come. Now, here we are, after days of intense discussions, alliances, crises, and yes, a few last-minute coffee runs for the press team.
As the Press Head, I’ve had the incredible pleasure of watching each moment unfold like a movie scene, capturing the heated debates, the moments of sheer panic, thanks to some brilliantly executed crises, and the triumphant speeches. You all have kept us on our toes, and I couldn't be prouder of my team for turning those moments into headlines, articles, and news flashes.
First off, a huge thank you to our Press coordinator, Mr. Dipendra Silwal.Your guidance, support, and constant encouragement have been the foundation of everything we accomplished as a press team. Whether it was helping us brainstorm ideas, giving us feedback, or simply cheering us on during crunch time, you were always there. Thank you for being our mentor and for helping us make the press coverage of TESMUN 2024 such a success! Thank you for being such rockstars, for your creativity, leadership, and endless energy. It’s been an honor working alongside you to make sure the press team ran smoothly and, most importantly, kept everyone informed and entertained. Whether it was brainstorming catchy headlines or frantically finalizing articles as the deadline loomed, you were always there with fresh ideas and a positive attitude.
To my amazing press team, I don’t have enough words to express how proud I am of each and every one of you. You went above and beyond every single day, chasing stories, interviewing delegates, and typing away furiously as the clock ticked down. You managed to capture the heart and soul of TESMUN, and you did it all with smiles on your faces—even when we were rummaging through our draft reports for the finalized article of the day. It’s been an absolute pleasure leading such a hardworking, talented, and fun team.A big thanks to our incredible photographers who made sure every moment was captured with flair! Your knack for finding the perfect shot turned our conference into a visual masterpiece, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
And a massive shoutout to the IT team, you saved our lives on more than one occasion. From helping us get our articles published on time to fixing those inevitable tech issues, you were the true unsung heroes of this session. Without you, we’d have had blank screens and nowhere to share the brilliance of these delegates with the world. So, thank you for keeping us all connected and, most importantly, for your endless patience with our urgent requests! I’d also like to give a special thanks to our English teachers, Bhawana Phuyal maam ,Rashmi Ijam maam Somnath Dahal sir and Rusha Shrestha madam along with Ranjit KC sir, Deepa Ghimire sir madam and Pratik Subedi sir. Your guidance and feedback were invaluable. From helping us polish our writing, guiding the interview team to supporting us when we needed to add that extra flair to our articles, you’ve been an essential part of our team, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
TESMUN 2024 has been an unforgettable experience. We’ve seen delegates passionately defending their countries, forming alliances, and tackling global issues with creativity and determination. Every crisis faced, every resolution debated, every moment shared has brought us closer together as a team and as future leaders.
As we wrap up this incredible journey, I want to thank each and every one of you for making TESMUN 2024 a success. From the delegates to the chairs, to my fantastic press team, IT, and everyone behind the scenes—you’ve all contributed to making this MUN an event we’ll never forget.
We’ve learned so much, grown so much, and, most importantly, had so much fun along the way. I’m confident that the skills, friendships, and memories we’ve created here will stay with us long after TESMUN 2024 is over. Here’s to all of you and the bright futures ahead.
Thank you, everyone, and let’s give ourselves a round of applause for an unforgettable TESMUN 2024!
The true spirit of MUN is not just in winning awards but in the understanding and empathy we develop towards global issues.
The greetings and salutations to the respected secretary general Ms. Sadikhya Lohani Honorable Chief Guest and Managing Director of the School, Mr. Ram Basnet; Honorable Special Guest and Chairperson of the School, Madam Sheetal Rana; Respected Administrative In charge, Mr. Niraj Bikram Rana; Respected Principal, Mr. Prashant Rajak; Respected MUN Coordinator, Mr. Govinda Gautam; Instructional Supervisors; Teachers; my colleagues in the dais panel and each individual present here
First of all, I would like to express my pleasure to have the opportunity to address you as the Chair of Legislative Parliament One. In the past few days, we have strived to build this Model United Nations as not just a template, but a living statement of the principle of diplomacy. To this day, I recall the shocked expressions of my delegates upon their first arrival to the committee hall. The sense of responsibility was really felt.I understood that being a teacher is not an easy job; it is a work of art which needs determination and time.It was quite the roller coaster ride, in the past, to go from being a delegate to being this committee's chair. I noticed myself changing from being one of the more passive delegates to being one of the most open delegate and enjoying the entire session.
What I witnessed was a transformation taking place. The committee, at first passive and not very proactive, started to give force to the debates. Where there was doubt, there was now passion; where there had been quiet, there was now the rhythm of diplomacy. Watching the rise of Delegates Chandra Bhandari and Bishnu Prasad Paudel with their powerful speeches was simply thrilling. Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the delegate, was full of energy and ideas, always enthusiastic and involved, and Gagan Kumar Thapa was always able to narrow things down and bring out a clear logic of the situations presented. The committee was always able to function more efficiently because of the delegate Sher Bahadur Deuba and Arzu Rana's collaboration, and I can't forget about Janardan Sharma's excellent research. I agree that everyone's cooperation allowed LP-1 to function efficiently and effectively.
As the chair of the legislative parliament, I must admit that, despite the occasionally unstable nature of the committee, I am extremely proud of my delegates. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication as a team. As I bring this speech to a close, I would like to acknowledge the unwavering support of my dedicated Vice Chair and Moderator, without whom the smooth operation of our committee would not have been possible. Their insight and guidance were the glue that held us together in moments of doubt.
Let us not forget, this MUN is not the end but a beginning. It is a reminder that the world’s problems, as complex as they may be, can be solved through collaboration, empathy, and the energy to listen.
To announce the winners now i would like to call the vice chair Mr. Shubharambh Ghimire and Moderator Ms. Marisha Devi Gurung with the committee incharge Mr. Shiva Ram Adhikari sir to present the award.
Greetings!
The secretary general, Ms.Sadikshya Lohani, the chairperson of our school Madam Sheetal Rana, the administrative incharge Mr.Njraj Bikram rana, the principal Mr.Prashant Rajak, the mun coordinator Mr.Govinda Gautam, IS teachers, my colleagues in the dias panel and my amazing delegates, who held their placards up high giving voice to the voiceless, I am shuvangi kc the chair of lp2.
Before anything, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the peaceful end of the Legislative Parliament in the midst of chaos where debated on the agenda, “Amendments on Constitution for political stability and socio-economic development.
As I stand here, I remember stepping into the committee for the first time, I was a caterpillar, just trying to pinch her way through the MUN procedure, hesitant and unsure of her place, with a shaking hand, but left with a heart full of determination and fast forward one year, I transformed into a butterfly, sparing confidently with experience and knowledge and excitement in ECOSOC, the journey from unsure delegate to the best delegate. But, this year was different, walking into the committee where I had first sat, but now as a chair was like returning home. Yet this familiar setting came with a responsibility that was weighing heavily on my shoulders.
Curiosity sparked within me like an ember to hear more from you during the first session. However, by the second session, you delegates chomped anxiety at me, frustration building with every word unspoken and every decision delayed. Yet, the third session—my goodness —It ended with tears. Yes, I ended my committee with tears full of joy and sadness, becoz these lovely delegates of mine didn't just reach but exceeded my expectations, delegates, you did it, and yes you fulfilled your promises as our committee has come to an end, but your journey has just begun to accelerate, so do not get saddened, do not give up, Let MUN inspire you, as it did for me.
I have been holding back my tears, and delegates as we part our journey today, which I wish not too, but I'll always cherish the memories I've made and I promise you your senti chair will keep the secrets within you and I, from Ramesh Lekhak's side-splitting yet insightful jokes, to the moments when I helped you all with proper pronunciation for the word “crucial” and “federalism” to Aarzu Rana and Shekar Koirala's logical points to Janardan Sharma, Prithivi Subba Gunurng and CK Raut tho less but valid point. I'll never forget the support and care you showed when I was moved to tears.
Jokes aside delegates, remember, You will rise, you will stumble, you will fall but you will rise again but stronger than ever delegates, As we honor the awardees of this year's MUN, remember that you have all evolved from nervous delegates to empowered leaders, each holding the future in your capable hands, so don't let your hopes die.

This year’s MUN has been an exceptional experience, and every moment has been truly memorable. The sense of accomplishment I feel right now is indescribable.
Throughout the conference, I witnessed enthusiastic debates, thoughtful resolutions, and remarkable collaboration that truly embodied the spirit of diplomacy among all the delegates. What impressed me the most was how resolute and engaged the delegates were, as they tackled each challenge and accusation with enthusiasm and determination. “It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work on it.”
Good morning, everyone! A heartfelt thank you to our Honorable Managing Director Mr. Ram Basnet, Honorable Madam Chairperson Sheetal Rana, Administrative Incharge Niraj Bikram Rana, Honorable Principal Mr. Prashant Rajak, TESMUN co-ordinator Mr. Govinda Gautam, all our dedicated teachers, esteemed dais members, the tireless logistics team, diligent press members and of course all the delegates present here.
From the ongoing Russian-Ukraine war that has reverberated around the globe to the heart-breaking Israeli- Palestinian, conflict that has claimed countless innocent lives, our world is increasingly polarized by religion and political ideologies. Today, even the slightest conflicts possess the potential to escalate into devastating wars as we grapple with over 30 regional and international crises.
Over the past two days in our final MUN session, Sambriddhi Paudel had the extraordinary privilege of leading the DISEC committee, guiding my delegates through one of today’s most pressing discussions; escalating war on the middle east.
It is a paradox of human nature we seek here yet we find ourselves yearning for war. War and peace that dwell within us. The insatiable desire to possess more than we need breeds conflict and animosity. To rise above such greed, to embrace love and truth is the essence of humanism. We are aware that war brings conflict, pain and suffering. And yet, despite the tail it takes, we have not turned away from it. The DISEC committee bears the vital responsibility of advocating for global peace, delving into conflicts that plague our world, considering the perspective of all nations involved ultimately crafting resolutions that protects the world from devastating wars. Yes, we faced challenges, but we did it delegates, we prevailed together, we successfully navigated a committee that not only ignited passionate debate but also showcased the unwavering commitment of delegates to find common ground, inching the world closer to peace.
Reflecting on any time in the committee, I will forever remember the sharp exchanges from the delegates of USA and Brazil, the statements made by the President of Belarus and Syria, the articulated remarks of the delegate of Ukraine and the remarkable performance of the delegate of Iraq, Yemen and Japan. These moments will be etched in the walls of our committee as they have in our memories as lasting reminders of the dedication and spirit present in out discussions.
Now, I would love to stand here and claim that this year’s MUN has ignited a love and passion for international but that is simply not true. Some of you may leave this session of MUN feeling a growing hatred for it and loathing the next one to come and while I can not alter those feelings, I ask you to look back and smile on your journey. Embrace the lessons you have learned. Appreciate the present and prepare for what lies ahead. Although my journey concludes with this year's MUN , yours is just beginning.
Thank You all for your cooperation, commitment , and enthusiasm throughout this lesson in life are often learned during our toughest challenges.
So, never give up . Face those challenges head-on and the world will be yours to shape.Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors!
Now it is my pleasure to pass the microphone to the vice chair and moderator who will announce the name of the awardees of our committee.
