Town Wall Murals in Alabama
All across Alabama, artists paint big, colorful pictures on the sides of buildings. These giant artworks are called town wall murals. A mural is like a story painted so large that everyone in the town can enjoy it.
In Alabama, murals can show our history, our nature, our people, and the things that make each town special — from cotton fields and riverboats to music, animals, and friendly faces. When we look at a mural, we’re seeing a piece of Alabama’s story shining right on a wall.
Murals help make our towns bright, welcoming, and full of imagination. They remind us that art isn’t just in museums — it can live right outside, where everyone can see it every day.
