Painting with Nature: Making Your Own Natural Paint!

Did you know you can make paint from things you find outside? Artists can use berries, flowers, leaves, mud, and even crushed rocks to create beautiful colors. When we mix these natural items with a little water, they turn into soft, earthy paints we can use to make art.

Painting with nature helps us look closely at the world around us. A purple berry can make a bright splash of color. A yellow flower can make sunshine on your paper. Even dirt can make warm browns for trees and animals. When you paint with natural colors, you’re using the gifts of the earth to create something new.

Every brushstroke becomes a tiny piece of nature’s story, told by you.
