Team 977 Engineering Challenges invite students in grades K–8 to imagine, design, build, and test creative solutions to exciting engineering prompts. Each quarter, a brand-new challenge is released, giving students the opportunity to innovate, experiment, and showcase their creations. Entries are featured online for community voting, and winners in each age division will receive a brand-new LEGO set (local pickup)

Who: Students in Grades K-8
What: Design and build a cool-looking robot using any materials you can find at home (LEGOs, paper towl rolls, paper, tree branches- be creative)
When: June 1st- August 31st
Where: Anywhere!!!
How to submit: Use the link below to upload a photo or video of your design or bring your design to one of our summer STEM Labs and Open House
Rules:
Must be student made and not from a kit
5-24 inches
Needs to be 3D
Submissions must be made by 11:59pm ET on August 31, 2026
Details:
Winners will be chosen by online vote
One winner will be selected from each age division (K-2; 3-5; 6-8)
Voting will take place September 7-11
Winners Announced September 18
