PROJECT TITLE
DE SIDERIBUS ...what if ...we want to listen to Holst from the planets of the solar system?
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
The proposed project “what if we wanted to listen to Holst in space?” was born thanks to the passion of two students Andrea of 1st and Emanuele of 5th united by two great passions: space and music. In their future I already see physics and astrophysics. For those who, like me, don't know who Holst is, well he composed PLANETS: suite for large orchestra in seven movements. The attached file contains the calculations and considerations (strictly scientific, sometimes with a touch of humour) of how nice it would be to create a concert that broadcasts music from the sun to all the planets of the solar system. And, at the same time, costs and objective difficulties are highlighted. Certainly the project is unfeasible, but the considerations allow us to work from a stem perspective in various disciplines: ellipse and ellipsoid, solar system, sound propagation in vacuum, in the atmosphere, in different gases, influence of temperature and much more. In addition to the calculations (commendable and realistic), the topics covered are a starting point for discussions and reflections in classes of different school levels; attention to detail and assessments from a physical, economic and construction point of view develop entrepreneurial skills and weighted research. which make it valid as a PCTO proposal. The theme deals with life outside the earth with the creation of a theoretical model and the construction of a prototype with poor material, in addition to scientific debate. PARTICIPATION IN THE PROJECT
The project deals in an innovative and physically/mathematically correct and in-depth way with the propagation of sound within the solar system, but, at the same time, allows its explorations at different levels of school. The participation and realization of the project involved the passion of the two students. The material produced (documents, geogebra, excell, 3d models) will be used starting this year with science dissemination projects (such as living in space: what you can do and not do) during activities with lower secondary schools. the project was born thanks to 2 pupils; encouraging their highly scientific enthusiasm, I guided their choices and actions, thinking: to which targets can this content be proposed? And in what terms?
REPLICABILITY OF THE PROJECT
How can an idea born from the scientific and spatial passion of a few students and presented with a document and a video become replicable in other schools, even at different levels? Because by reading the document you can already find indications on how to adapt it to other contexts. The module is replicable because within the student community there are people able to propose the topics addressed in the document with the appropriate level of detail, respecting the freedom of teaching, also integrating some of its parts with normal curricular and extra-curricular activities. It is possible to develop DEBATE activities between classes or propose a scientific coffee to discuss the different facets of life in space. The originality lies in the interdisciplinary approach and in the possibility of developing digital skills using geogebra and excel. The document shows how to manage an almost "scale" model of the solar system and makes us reflect on what could happen if the normal motion of the planets were to fail . Personally, we will test the replicability of the theme with a bridge project with first grade students in the second quarter, while we will deal with analytical geometry in space (fifth graders) proposing the ellipsoid model presented in the project. An added value is the fact that the project does not require particular materials or devices, but only curiosity, the desire to know something different The document shows how to manage an almost "scale" model of the solar system and makes us reflect on what could happen if the normal motion of the planets were to fail. ENRICHMENT OF TEACHING ACTIVITY
experimentation with new educational practices and the adoption of active methodologies: thanks to the skills acquired, the pupils are promoters of their knowledge. In accordance with the PTOF of the Institute, the STEM disciplines are enhanced in a path of excellence which, however, allows everyone to approach the theme of space and life outside the Earth, tackling with the right degree of detail (based on the age of pupils) different contents and developing transversal skills. The strong point of the project is its adaptability to different contexts both in our school and in other realities.

PARTICIPATION OF ADDITIONAL PARTIES
The still uncertain situation and restrictions still present within the school community did not allow us to find any partners; we thank, however, the Vivaldi CONSERVATORY of Alessandria for the support provided to the students involved in the project and the Astrophiles group of Pecetto.
We ask you to evaluate the work and commitment to scientifically detailing the idea behind the proposal.

COINVOLGIMENTO
Meetings with pupils of the classes are foreseen in debates on how to replicate the life we are used to outside the Earth. The activities highlight decision-making skills, problem solving, creativity, critical thinking, effective communication: presented at the open day it received positive comments
