4th graders in Mrs. Montrello's class studied idiomatic expressions and their meanings. After completing the unit, they demonstrated what they learned about idiomatic expressions by creating a slide presentation. Each student created two slides. The first slide had an image and an idiomatic expression. The second slide had the student's interpretation of the idiomatic expression.
Students worked with their classroom teacher, the art teacher, and the school's TA (tech assistant). When done, they had a class collection of idiomatic expressions and interpretations of those expression by the students.
Each student created two slides to illustrate their idiomatic expressions:
The first slide listed the idiomatic expression, with an image to illustrate the expression
The second slide listed that student's interpretation of the idiomatic expression, with an image to illustrate the interpretation.
