Slide 2: Standards 

Throughout this lesson, students analyze three different texts in order to make inferences about the connection with physical and political maps. While also comparing the historical maps of Ptolemy, Walkseemüller, and Martcellus.  Students will test their prior understanding of maps and cultivate new ideas relating to:  how they are used, why are they important, and how the evolution of historical maps gives us a glimpse into the past world.
