Slide 16: Waldseemüller's Map

Again, students will compare this map to the past maps of Ptolemy and Martellus. While  seeing how it has changed. Students see a more modern outlook on the shape of the continent Africa.  Also, observing how the new word ( The Americas) is first shown. They can make connections of the Americas to how Africa was first seen in Ptolemy's map, not fully explored and only showing vague resemblence to how we see The Americas in modern day maps.
