This is the formal assessment for this lesson. Students are given paper copies of each of the three historical maps. They are tasked with recording their observations from the investigation. Highlighting the influences each of the maps had and what specific features/discoveries were relevent. Lastly, they are asked to reflect on the importance of these cartographers perspectives at this time and how it influenced their work. After this is completed, a discussion is created to observe the student's thinking and understanding of the lesson.
