Student Working Example
With limited to no phone use in the classroom setting, photography had to pivot in how to teach students digital photography. What came about was an elaborate assignment inspired by the contemporary photographer David Hockey. The students took around twenty pictures each of two different objects for homework and downloaded them to their drive outside of class. From these pictures, contemporary artist research, and looking into the art history movement of Cubism, the artists got to work developing four practice drafts to later then choose one to edit and reconstruct into a digital mosaic of sorts. After a final presentation the students then printed these images out to physically collage along with other mixed media. Working amongst various types of technology, the student's perspective of photography - much like the project itself - was deconstructed to understand a broader scope of how create and share within the digital world of photos.
