Synchronous vs. Asynchronous
In a synchronous learning environment, all students are present on the virtual platform simultaneously. In an asynchronous learning model, students experience learning at the times they are available.
Highlighted Platforms for Synchronous Learning
Zoom is a virtual, video meeting platform with a plethora of options for the host of the call, chat features, and breakout rooms for opportunities for collaborative group work.
Google Meet is available free of charge for GSuite for Education users. It now integrates with Google Classroom.

Highlighted Platforms for Asynchronous Learning
Upload videos taken on your phone or other sources to YouTube. Publish unlisted for a link unsearchable by the public.
Screencastify records your screen and/or webcam. Utilizes chrome browser. Free version has a 10 minute time limit.
Flipgrid is a collaborative video platform that integrates with both Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams.
The Seesaw platform is a protected space to communicate with students and families. Record directly on the app or web browser.
