Here we have a presentation on a very important website that many teachers use to review and practice their material. Kahoot is widely used in many different classrooms with different material. From Spanish high school classrooms to 1st grade classrooms. Many students love kahoot because it is a game and they can race to win it. It can be used for quizzes, reviews, discussions, etc. Web 2.0 is a project that I worked on with four other educators in order to teach our class about this app specifically. Other groups did apps/websites like quizlet, blooket, etc. In order to ensure that we as a group learned about a variety of tools to use in the classroom.
Provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology (7a). Kahoot and Web 2.0 are ways that students can reflect their learning. In kahoot's case students can review the material given by their teacher. In the case of Web 2.0 we as educators reflected on a website that teachers use often in order to help their students.
I would put Kahoot under Augmentation which is defined as technology acting as a direct tool substitute with functional improvement. The teacher can use kahoot to replace class quizzes, reviews, and can also use visual and audio in kahoots like pictures and videos for different types of learners.
Kahoot is a very popular website that can be used in any classroom. We as educators got to practice collaborating on a lesson with other educators which is a practice we need in the classroom. We had to find times that everyone could meet and be able to split the work evenly. We then got to present our work in front of a panel and we experienced teaching a lesson in front of a classroom. Everyone in the panel knew about kahoot however it was good experience to talk about different platforms of kahoot that not many people know about.
