uniform and clothing

what we wear to school

“There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing” - a common Norwegian phrase

Taradale PS does not have a strict uniform policy.

Our dress code and uniform policy is non gender specific, we encourage everyone to wear whatever makes them feel the most comfortable.

Our aims are:

  • To promote a sense of community that is inclusive for all students
  • To support the wearing of clothing that is practical for our school environment and appropriate for all learning situations
  • To maintain and enhance the positive image of the school in the local and wider community

If you wish your child to wear a uniform, Taradale PS has a range of functional, practical clothing with the school logo that can be purchased from the school office.

Note: students are required to wear closed toe shoes at all times when outdoors, this is due to our outdoor nature based curriculum and the risk of injury from sticks, glass, animal bites etc.

In the wetter months children should have waterproof boots and coats at school as well as a change of clothes as we go outside regardless of the weather!

Children are also welcome to bring slippers to school to wear in the classrooms.

Our uniform shop carries a range of new and used items as per the list below.
