About us

principal's welcome

I would like to sincerely welcome you to your school. My name is Chris and I am very pleased to have been  leading our community school for the past thirteen years. Taradale Primary School has been a part of the community since 1855 making it one of the oldest schools in Victoria, welcoming students from near and far. Recently we have seen an increase in enrolments. We have grown from one class of  just 5 students in 2015 to four classes now as people discover all that our wonderful school has to offer.

Taradale Primary School offers a calm and caring wellbeing and  learning environment as well as a high quality curriculum. Our school embraces diversity and is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe - regardless of race, gender, religious background, sexuality, gender identity, financial status, cultural background, linguistic background, family background, or disability. The school’s philosophy is to ensure a friendly, child centred learning environment where all students are treated as individuals and are encouraged to achieve success as independent, self-motivated learners whose voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. We have high expectations of all children as learners and are proud of our academic results.

Inside, the school offers five large well equipped classrooms. Currently the school is set up to provide five general classrooms. We also provide an Out of School Hours Care Service in our MP room. Outside, we have spacious landscaped grounds that contain the school farm, our beautiful Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, basketball court, themed learning landscape garden areas, playgrounds, oval and treed and grassed areas. - all of which are used for our Nature School classes.

The school is proud of the links and support it has developed with the local community. These have enabled us to continue to develop our school and to promote it as a place of educational excellence in the community.

Taradale Primary School is the best choice for your child if you have high expectations for their education and social development as a lifelong learner. We welcome visitors to our school and encourage you to contact me to arrange a time to visit so I can show you our wonderful school and to talk about how we can best educate your child or children.

We wish you well during your family’s time here at Taradale Primary School. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
