At Taradale Primary School, we celebrate neurodiversity and value the unique ways each child thinks, learns, communicates and experiences the world. In line with the Department of Education and Victorian guidelines, we are committed to creating a school environment where neurodivergent students feel recognised, supported and empowered to thrive.
Individual Support Plans & Adjustments: Developed collaboratively by our Disability Inclusion Co‑ordinator, Wellbeing Worker, teachers, allied health professionals, families and support staff.
Strength‑Based Approach: We focus on each student’s interests, abilities and preferred ways of learning.
Classroom Adjustments: Sensory tools, flexible seating, visual supports, predictable routines, movement breaks and personalised teaching strategies.
Collaborative Teams: We work closely with families, NDIS workers and health professionals to ensure student needs are understood and supported across both home and school.
Student Participation: Students are encouraged to share what helps them learn best so they can be active partners in their learning.
We aim to create an environment where differences in thinking and learning styles are not only accepted but valued. Our wellbeing team and teaching and support staff work together to support emotional regulation, social connection, engagement and academic success.
