Title: Categorical symmetries: from phases to phase gates
Abstract: After a review of recent developments in the characterization of topological interfaces and phases with categorical symmetries using the Symmetry Topological Field Theory (SymTFT), I will discuss an exciting application to quantum information: non-abelian codes based on group quantum doubles admit topologically protected phase gates of arbitrary precision in two spatial dimensions, providing a route towards universal quantum computation.
