Sybille Bauer-Zierfuß received her doctoral degree in philosophy at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, under the supervision of Univ.-Lekt. Mag. Dr. Phil. habil. Ramón Reichert.

Her research focuses on Autism Representation in Media, exploring the profound influence of media portrayals on the lived experiences and epistemic reality of marginalized autistic individuals.

In addition to her academic work, Bauer-Zierfuß regularly conducts lectures, talks, and workshops on the representation of autism in media, with a particular emphasis on the experiences of marginalized groups, including women, transgender individuals, BIPOC, and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
