In ihrer dreiteiligen Filmreihe Selfie Test #1, #2 und #3 untersucht Sybille Bauer filmisch das fotografische Phänomen des Selfies. Sie beleuchtet dabei den Prozess von Selbstinszenierung, sowie der Konstruktion von Identität. Jeder Film nutzt verschiedene Kamera-Perspektiven: Die der Selfie-Kamera, welche die Selbstpräsentation des Subjekts einfängt, sowie die einer sekundären Kamera, welche den Akt der Bildproduktion selbst dokumentiert. Dieser duale Ansatz regt zu einer Reflexion über das Zusammenspiel von Selbst, Bild und Medium an.

In her three-part film series Selfie Test #1, #2, and #3, Sybille Bauer explores the evolution of the selfie from a photographic phenomenon to a cinematic one. Rather than focusing on the instant of capturing an image, Bauer delves into the broader process of self-fashioning, examining how identity is constructed and performed in real time. Each film employs two distinct camera perspectives: one from the selfie-camera, capturing the subject’s self-presentation, and another from a secondary camera that documents the act of creating the image itself.
