Article III Executive Committee and Board of Director

1- The league officers will consist of a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. The league officers will otherwise be known as the executive committee. Each officer will serve a one year term. The offices of the secretary and treasurer can be selected from the board of directors. The offices of the president and vice-president cannot be a member of the board of directors. The vice-president and secretary offices may be held concurrently but do not have to be. All officers shall perform the duties outlined by these by-laws and those assigned from time to time.

2- In the instance that any league office becomes vacant, a special meeting with the board of directors shall convene within one month of this instance, and new league officers shall be appointed and approved via a majority vote by the board of directors.

3- The board will elect officers each year at the league’s pre-season board meeting.

4- The president will not vote at league meetings except to break a tie. 

Article II Membership of Board 

1- The board of directors will consist of two voting representatives from each team. These directors will be appointed by their respective teams prior to the league’s pre-season board meeting. Each director’s name, address, and telephone number must be submitted to the vice-president of the swim league via email for officer approval no later than the March meeting.

2- The term of office will run from March to March.

3- Coaches are ineligible to be directors, but are encouraged to be a part of the board process. Each director must be in good standing with their member club.

4- Voting: Each director shall be entitled to cast one vote in league matters or, in their absence by an alternate. 

5- Functions: The team directors shall constitute the legislative body of the league, and shall have full authority to act for and on behalf of the league in the conduct of its activities with their representative teams. Directors will also act as a liaison between the league and their teams. Directors will attend league meetings held bi-annually, or send an alternate. When a violation occurs, it is the responsibility of the directors to report this issue/violation to the league officers and board of directors as soon as possible.

Article III Executive Committee and Board of Directors

4- Regular meetings shall be held bi-annually. Dates of said meetings shall be determined by the executive committee and announced.

5- As well as being members of the league board, directors also oversee the running of their individual teams which includes:

1. Being the liaison between the team and the town and/or community pool.

2. Each team’s treasurer or assistant treasurer, not a member of the board of directors, is required to maintain a team checking account.

3. Selecting and hiring head and assistant coaches (with the help of the league if desired).

4. Establishing team goals, training, and schedule.

5. Organizing and running their team’s dual meets, socials, fundraising and events, and pictures.

6. Selecting, ordering, and distributing team apparel.
