About Our Team:

The New Market Lightning League was organized in 1993. Its purpose is to provide a team oriented, fun filled summer swim league experience, which focuses on recreational swimming improvement and lifelong swimming skills. The New Market Lightning Swim Team is open to boys and girls who are able to safely swim from 6 years of age (with some exceptions) to 18 years of age, regardless of race, color, ethnic origin, gender, or religion. The size of New Market Lightning Swim Team continues to grow each season from 25 to 87 swimmers in the year 2019.

The mission of the New Market Lightning Swim League is to foster children's enjoyment of swimming as a life-long activity and sport by promoting individual skill improvement and achievement of personal goals through participation with other children within a framework of fun and friendship.

The New Market Lightning Swim Team's vision is to instill a lifelong love of swimming and to build a program of high quality training, team unity, and character development with family and community support, where every swimmer has the opportunity to achieve their potential at the highest level.
