For my first day at Wallace Middle School in Kyle, Texas, I used the resource I had made in the previous semester and updated it to share with my classes so that the students would understand who I was and why I would be with them for the rest of the semester.
To the left is my first observed lesson plan, where my professor observed me in the back of the classroom as I led the class, and my cooperative teacher assisted me. In this lesson, I guided my students through a peer-editing process for the day before their final ECR was due. To the right, is the daily slides I displayed on the board throughout the lesson.
To the right is my second observed lesson plan, where my professor observed me in the back of the classroom as I led the class and my cooperative teacher assisted me. In this lesson, I introduced my students to "Two-sentence horror stories" and guided them into writing their own. This lesson was particularly interesting because the next day, horror author, Scott Johnson, came to the school to talk and workshop with our students.
To the right is my third observed lesson plan, where my professor observed me in the back of the classroom as I led the class and my cooperative teacher assisted me. In this lesson, I guided my students through reading a new text, while going over important literary elements, such as foreshadowing.
To the left is my fourth observed lesson plan, where my professor observed me in the back of the classroom as I led the class and my cooperative teacher assisted me. In this lesson, I introduced my students to what we were reading, WHY we were reading it and guided them through discussion after we read the excerpt.
