During my spring 2024 semester at Texas State University, I began my observations in the secondary classrooms for two days a week. On Mondays, I would observe a senior ELA class for 1st period, and on Wednesdays, I would observe a freshman ELA class for their 2nd period. The classes were set on a block schedule, so each period was 90 minutes long. Below, are the resources and lesson plans I created throughout my semester for my observation classes and my EDST class.
These are the two "First Day of School" resources that I created for my future classroom. I used my left article for my first day of student teaching.
This is the lesson plan that I taught to my 9th-grade ELA observation class. On this day, my CT actually had a sub, so I was able to take over the whole lesson/class since I had known that class better than the sub, as well as guide the sub in how to teach the lesson to the following periods.
In my EDST block, we were placed in YA novel groups of 3-4 and focused on making 2 lesson plans based on the novel for the semester. Our novel was The Hate You Give and below are the two lesson plans we created for it.
