Instructional Practices in Education and Training

My first year of interning was the 2020-2021 school year. I chose to intern with a 4th grade ELA and social studies class, because of my love for English. Unfortunately for me, this was the first school year Covid-19 had been around, which meant things were a lot different for these students because of circumstances like online learning, masks, social distancing and more. From this internship, I was able to gain insight with hands on experience of what it looks like in a elementary classroom day by day and learn how to deal with different behavior issues, learning disabilities, and any daily problems that occur. I was also able to learn different teaching strategies and techniques through shadowing my mentor such as visualization, cooperative learning, using technology in the classroom and more.
