For my 2021-2022 teaching internship, I interned with a 4th grade math and science class. In my previous year I also interned with a 4th grade class, but both the subject and teacher were different. Now, in this classroom, I have gained another perspective of a different teaching style, classroom layout, and even a completely different group of students. So far in this years internship, I have been met with an abundance of learning disabilities, behavior issues, and more which have strengthened my teaching abilities overall and have given me new experience of how to accommodate these issues in the classroom.
In the above picture, I am verbally reading an assignment to a student who has dyslexia, as well as helping the student work out the math problem.
In the picture above, I have a small group together to assist them in reading and answering questions on their daily assignment.
Displayed is a lesson plan over food webs and chains that includes an "interactive" bulletin board to go along with their notes, showing students how the food chain works. This lesson plan includes a notes powerpoint, a guided notes worksheet, a rubric for their group project and a closing reflection.
