As a girls' captain for two seasons of my cross country career (years 2020-2022), I not only made sure all of my teammates were held accountable for their participation in our sport but also made sure I was an ally on the team so that my fellow teammates felt welcomed and included. One of my main responsibilities was to be able to communicate between my teammates and coaches, relaying important information back and forth, so that there was no miscommunication amongst our team. I also lead the team during practices and meets, making sure we stay professional and on task, to ensure our prosperity.
As an officer in the Spanish National Honors Society from 2021-2022, I made sure to complete all tasks assigned to me, such as: finding community service projects, recruiting new members, making our meeting presentations, and more. I also helped my board of officers by communicating with each individual so that they knew their weekly responsibilities, collaborating on meeting presentations, and coming together to discuss new events or protocols within our society.
TAFE stands for Texas Association of Future Educators, and I was an active member of this club from 2018 through 2022. In TAFE, I had the opportunity to compete at the regional and state level in both 2021 and 2022, to expand and display my knowledge as a future educator.
