Sunflower Learning Community - Enrichment (Roots and Sprouts Guild)

Enrichment

In our enrichment programs, learners ages 4-15 join forces in their pursuit of knowledge. Together we will learn about ourselves, the world around us, and our place in it. We will discover the natural world, our language, and people who have come before us. We support one another, persevere through difficulties, and grow every day. Throughout the day, students interact with learners in mixed-age groups, hear rich stories, sing songs, engage their senses, and move their bodies.

Roots

Ages 4-7

Preschool and early elementary students enter a world of wonder as they experience timeless stories, songs, and games and explore the natural world - with plenty of time for nature's best teacher - play.

This program is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Daily Rhythm

9:30: Drop Off begins, free play

10:00 Morning Meeting & Small Groups - story time, group activity, centers

11:30 Lunch and Recess

12:30-3:00 Small Groups - quiet story time, art, and play

3:00 Dismissal or Extended Day option

Morning Only (9:30-11:30)

Full Day (9:30-3:00) $315

Sprout's Guild

Ages 6-12

Guild (n): a group of people who come together in pursuit of a common interest

Elementary students will explore history, nature, literature, and a variety of enrichment subjects.

10:10 Small Groups - literature, history, and nature study

11:30 Lunch and Recess

12:30-3:00 Small Groups - music and art appreciation, foreign language, drawing, geography, math games*

Branching Out

Ages 10-15

Students in grades 4th-8th will dig deeper in specific subject areas, including science, art, and independent studies.
