Honey bee communication is fascinating. We are currently performing research on measuring the maximum number of digital communication bits available to a honey bee in an effort to try and mathematically model the level of intelligence of a honey bee. For instance, the literature suggests honeybees have a concept of zero and can count up to 4. This is an equivalent of 2^4 bits of communication but is only one construct. I want to find as many constructs as I can to see the maximum number of honey bee "words" that are possible in their language.
