MITES (formerly OEOP) provides transformative experiences that bolster confidence, create lifelong community, and build an exciting, challenging foundation in STEM for highly motivated 7th–12th grade students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. Catalyzing change in STEM, our goal is to advance equity and access through hands-on programs that are free of cost to participants and their families.

Eligibility: MITES Summer for our six-week, on-campus program that immerses students from across the country in life at MIT. Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and High school juniors.
Students must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents with a valid US green card at the time of application in order to be able to apply to our programs. While undocumented students are not eligible to apply for our programs at this time, we encourage you to explore similar opportunities that do not have these same requirements.
