The Strongcold is a recurring theme in the Street Wise series. It was first fully mentioned in Street Wise 3: Crimson Fury. It is where multiple battles take place in the series, such as The Battle of Bonaparte, The Battle for Fighters Fury, and The Showdown of Drathivel. It is a very significant symbol in the lore of Street Wise. It is unknown what it is based on.
The Strongcold is quite literally hell for wicked gods. Gods like Amaterasu, Athena, Izanagi, the benevolent ones, have nothing to worry about when it comes to this place. Susano'o, Zeus, and Kali on the other hand, are screwed six ways to Sunday. Evil gods go there after death, or in some cases, after reincarnation. Anyways, The Strongcold inhabits demons way stronger and bigger than Earth demons, such as Drathivel.
It has torture chambers for evil gods, Drathivel's stage actually takes place directly in one. However, it is usually not bloody or gory, they slowly have divine energy taken from them, and are forced to watch as mortals slander them when they are dead. However, for truly wicked gods, the stone stakes are used, which are visible in most stages, just big, sharp stones. The water in the Strongcold is safe to mortals who are pure, same with gods who are pure, but it burns gods or humans who are wicked. Bonaparte tried to make it as safe as he could for the pure souls.
Speaking of mortals, for mortals, the Strongcold is not really a threat to them. Just like a big, dangerous, and very haunted playground for them. It is not designed to hurt mortals. However, the elements of it are very harsh on mortals who are wicked. Such as the water. The reason for this is because of the sentience of the realm.
Yes, the Strongcold is alive. The realm is so haunted by gods that their leftover divine energy added personality to the realm. This is how the realm expresses displeasure toward wicked mortals. It is also the reason why it crumbled when Deus died, it was making sure none of the wicked god's souls escaped. Bonaparte was smart enough to ensure that the souls would never escape, and he purposely designed it to where the fighters would be sent back to their time periods after the realm falls.
