The following are retellings of events in the Strongcold. It is recommended to read all the pages on the site before reading this; otherwise, you will be very, very lost.
Chapter 1: Brought to life.
The air was dry and cold. A never-ending feeling of dread and impending doom curses it. The Strongcold groans as large stone stakes creak. Bonaparte lingers in the middle of it all, his eyes glowing a bright white as he looks upon what will happen in the near future. He depicts a tragedy.
Bonaparte's voice unintentionally rips through the barren dimension, his white eyes now emitting a dark blue. "A solar storm is rapidly approaching the sphere of life, Mother Earth...I predict it will send her into the sun because of the storm's intensity. Amaterasu would likely die from the impact, as well. Her domain would fall." Bonaparte ponders, his eyes fading to a dim yellow light. "I need to bend history and avert this storm from hitting Mother Earth. It would disrupt balance and result in mass death among mortals. But how must I do this?" Bonaparte's eyes glow bright green.
Bonaparte speaks, his eyes regaining their usual blue and white color. "Mortals were the solution the whole time. I know what I could do. Introduce the old to the new, and the new to the old. They need to meet somehow, maybe in a fight." His eyes glow a light green again. "Tourneys. I need to summon 3 for now. It will take 3 of the tourneys to completely avert the tragedy. This is too strong for my power to fix." His eyes go back to their normal color.
He looks through history with omniscience. Bonaparte speaks. "Kurt Falcone. 1940s. Strongest man of his time period. Shelby Feilds. 1990s. Also, the strongest. And Min-Jun Beom-Seok, 1940s, should add interest and make the effect stronger due to his connection with Kurt." Bonaparte's eyes turn light yellow. "Let it commence, the first Fight Palace."
Chapter 2: All 3.
The Strongcold seems to groan in protest as the foreign fighters materialize in front of Bonaparte. Shelby was first; he looked around before making a disapproving sound. "This place smells like ozone and depression," Shelby sneers. Shelby looks up and sees Bonaparte looming above him. "Haha-yo! The hell's that?-" He is cut off as Kurt and Min-Jun appear.
Kurt looks around, disoriented from the sudden shift. He looks around, tightly wrapping his black leather jacket around him. He sees Min-Jun, passed out on the floor. "Min-Jun..." Kurt says with concern for his disoriented best friend. Min-Jun stirs and forces himself up.
Kurt looks at Min-Jun first, "Are you okay?" Kurt asks. "I'm fine," Min-Jun says, "Groggy, but fine," Min-Jun says before looking at Shelby. Kurt turned to Shelby and said, "How old are you, kid?" To that, Shelby said, "Oh, me? Just 14...about eighty years younger than you!" Kurt lets out a low growl before looking away. "You always seem that snarky, or are you feeling...especially bratty today?" Shelby laughs loudly, "Hahahaha! You got spunk, fossil! I respect you...for now." Shelby chuckles. Min-Jun looks at Shelby.
"Name?" Min-Jun asks. "What's it to ya?" Shelby replies with a grin on his face. "I just want to know you..." Min-Jun says, looking down slightly. Shelby barks out a laugh, "Jeez, get out of the gutter, buddy. I was messing with ya. I'm Shelby Feilds of West Scranton, PA, the 1989 champion of the WSHS underground fighting tourney!" Shelby exclaims loudly, pointing to the sky, or rather, the void outside of the Strongcold. Bonaparte chitters in what might be amusement before slamming his tail down to get their attention.
"You are all here for one reason..." Bonaparte starts, his voice gentle and his eyes a dim blue, not trying to scare them; he understood mortals, unlike a lot of his kind, and didn't enjoy seeing them in distress. "To determine who the strongest mortal in history is." Bonaparte finally lets out, his eyes returning to their original color. Kurt looks up and crosses his arms, not scared of the sight of the massive dragon, "Wait a damn minute...who are you and why should we trust you?" Kurt says with a controlled voice. "You may call me Bonaparte," the Elder God starts, "You can trust me," Bonaparte says, not explaining, not sugarcoating, just is. Kurt untenses and looks back at the other fighters; the tournament is nigh.
Chapter 3: It begins.
"Kurt, Shelby, fight," Bonaparte announces, no other explanation. The battle was over fast. 10 hits from Kurt and Shelby were down. Shelby looks up at Kurt, headband crooked. "Where the hell did you..." Shelby starts before falling back from exhaustion.
"Kurt..." Min-Jun says as he looks down at Shelby, "He is just a kid...was that really necessary?" Min-Jun draws out. "I'll be damned if I disobey that thing," Kurt says, lazily gesturing to Bonaparte. Min-Jun sighs. "Fascinating, dear Kurt," Bonaparte says, looking at the fallen Shelby, "But you still have Min-Jun to get through. Kurt, Min-Jun, fight," Kurt and Min-Jun's heads snap toward each other. They start circling each other, not the first time they dueled, but it was never clean.
Kurt enters with a jab to the stomach and a quick uppercut to the chin. Both land directly in the areas Kurt aimed for, sending Min-Jun back with a short spray of crimson from his chin. Min-Jun's usual warm smile turns into a sharp grin as he focuses. Min-Jun follows up with five sharp chops to various parts of Kurt's body and a brutal taekwondo kick to the face. Kurt actually falls, violently hitting the ground, just as Bonaparte rules Min-Jun victorious, Kurt gets up with pink energy flaring around him.
"Astounding..." Bonaparte rumbles. Kurt jumps up and flies at Min-Jun feet first with pink flames roaring around his lower half, Dropkick from Hell. Min-Jun flies back immediately, unconscious, with his dobok nearly scorched off his body. Bonaparte rumbles, "Winner is Kurt." Kurt puts his foot on top of Min-Jun and Shelby's chest.
Chapter 4: Filling in the gaps.
Kurt had established himself as a formidable force in the tournaments, dominating each match with skill and finesse. His victories at the Second Fight Palace were a testament to his dedication and training, as he easily outmatched his opponents. The third tournament was no different; Kurt's confidence and expertise shone through as he secured yet another win, solidifying his reputation as the fighter to beat.
However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically after the third tournament. Whispers of challenge and rivalry began to circulate among the other fighters. It was during this pivotal moment that Bonaparte made his move, vocalizing his desire to fight Kurt. This announcement sparked panic among the fighters, worried about Kurt's safety, they protested, to no avail, setting the stage for a showdown that could change the landscape of the Strongcold forever.
Then the fight actually came.
Chapter 5: Casualty.
Two tournaments later, it was the end of the third tournament, and Bonaparte was ready to fight Kurt.
"This isn't fair, Bonehead! Kurt is just a mortal! You're an elder god! And a dragon at that! You'd think we're playing limbo with how low you're going, fighting a weak human!" Shelby yelled out at Bonaparte, losing his grin for the first time in a long time. "Cease, young human, for in my time of knowing you, ever since the first tournament, I've learned there is no winning, so please, silence," Bonaparte says, the most scathing thing he would ever say just left his jagged maw. Tanaka protectively steps in front of Kurt, "Him my friend..." Tanaka says in broken English, despite such an innocent choice of words, he sounded fierce and protective, like a tribe member looking at a rival threatening them. Kurt puts a hand on Tanaka's shoulder, no other words, just a silent promise, 'I'll be fine." Kurt steps forward.
Micheal Ray steps forward, "It isn't fair," he says. Ray Haberken, or Riptide, finally speaks, "Ye ought to have faith in 'im." Riptide says. Micheal Ray's head snaps toward Riptide, "You ever think about losing faith? You never consider that maybe he could lose!" Micheal snaps. Riptide stands up fully, "Bratty boy, you should not ever lose hope, especially in Kurt. You have known him since the second fight palace, how could you possibly be so negative?" Riptide says with a confused and angry voice. Micheal finally breaks and sends a punch at Riptide's head.
Shelby's eyes widen. The hit lands, Riptide staggers back, out of instinct, he grabs his cutlass and in a clean slash, unsheathes it and sends it through Micheal's chest. Micheal immediately goes limp as the cutlass pierces his heart, blood erupting from his chest and back as it goes clean through. Riptide slowly takes it out, and Micheal crumples to the floor, silence among every single fighter there. Riptide puts it back into its sheath and stammers out, "I-I'm sorry...I didn't mean to..." He says, not shedding tears, but feeling extremely guilty.
Kurt's expression crumbles into softness, "You didn't mean to," Kurt says immediately, "He started it, nobody here thinks you are wrong." Kurt says fully. Tanaka puts a hand on Riptide's shoulder and says nothing. A comfortable silence fills the crisp air of the Strongcold. "I hated that dude anyway, he was a complete prick, and a negative Nancy," Shelby says, not even upset. Kurt slowly looks at Shelby and barks out a laugh; the other fighters follow soon after, the Strongcold feels a little warmer, the water in it flows a little faster, as the dimension itself feels the happiness of the fighters.
Chapter 6: The Battle of Bonaparte.
Bonaparte snaps his jaw shut, and all the fighters go back to their time periods, save for Kurt, leaving them together, alone. Kurt looks up and says no words. Kurt lunges, hitting Bonaparte with a flurry of hits and brutal haymakers. Bonaparte responds with plasma breath and charges. Then Kurt uses a Dropkick from Hell on Bonaparte.
Bonaparte actually falls back, ready to yield, but Kurt speaks first. "You took me and the rest of us from our time periods for your own twisted amusement..." Bonaparte is about to interrupt when Kurt raises a fist. Kurt slams his fist down, unleashing a brutal Hell Riser that completely engulfs Bonaparte's skull. When the fire dissipates, there is no light in Bonaparte's eyes. The bones forming Bonaparte fall apart, and Kurt jumps back and looks at the body.
Bonaparte's soul and body separate. The light that was in his eyes is in the air in the shape of a face; it speaks directly to Kurt. "Look, I haven't been one hundred percent honest with you and the other fighters." It starts, before continuing. "A catastrophic event threw off the balance of space and time. I had to bring back a mortal from a certain period to put the balance back to normal. If I brought back the wrong mortal, then the balance would not be restored. So I made you fight each other to determine who was meant to be brought back. It was not to determine who is the strongest, as you thought, it was not for my entertainment. I am not evil; no god or goddess is. We simply do our purpose. You have shown me you are worthy of being brought back. While all the other fighters in the tournaments are fulfilling their deaths, you will go back to earth. I wish you a serene rest of your life, mortal." The light says before fading completely. Kurt stands there silently and looks at where it was, resting against the huge skull.
In a flash of white, he is back in his time period. And the solar storm was averted from such cosmic carnage.
Chapter 7: False security.
995 years later, the soul separated from the power of Bonaparte, both of which were in space, floating far away from each other. The same solar storm that narrowly avoided Earth brought the two back together. Tainted by the void of space, they formed into something darker and more twisted than what was originally made from them. Deus was formed, currently a pupa.
The humanoid, darkish brown pupa floats throughout space. Five years later, Deus emerges from it. Drawn back to the Strongcold, he goes there, and the realm immediately screeches to a halt in complete, utter protest. Deus has the power and the energy of its creator, but it knew this was far from its creator. It knew how evil this being was.
A stone stake groans loudly. "Oh, hush, vile realm!" Deus exclaims as he slashes a stone stake in half. The frozen water hesitates before going back to flowing like it was. "Where was I?" Deus mutters, "Aha!" He exclaims loudly with a cruel grin on his face. Suddenly, it flashes white, and Kurt, Shelby, Min-Jun, Temujin (aka Dynamite), Riptide, Fabrizio, Tanaka, and Yasakani appear.
Yasakani looks around before exclaiming, "Where am I?!" The other fighters look less than fazed at the surroundings, but are panicking at the situation. Kurt looks around, "I thought I killed Bonaparte..." he mumbles. Shelby takes the time to speak to Yasakani, "You're in the Strongcold," Shelby starts, "You qualified to be in the fourth fight palace tournament, I suppose." Yasakani looks confused, "I was just about to get smote by Susano'o..." Deus interrupts, "I saved you".
Shelby yells at Deus, getting everyone's attention, "Hold it, horn-head! Who are you?! Where is Bonaparte?!" Shelby says loudly. Deus flares "CALL ME THAT AGAIN!!-" Shelby slaps Deus hard across the face. Deus goes quiet. Kurt steps up, "Explain who you are and why we are here." Kurt says simply. Deus composes himself, "Tch...brat. I am Deus, Bonaparte's soul and power tainted by cosmic energy. You will all brawl, whoever stands last will face me, whoever dethrones me will once again live the rest of their mortal life on Earth..."
Shelby is quiet, until... "Ah, great...not again..."
Chapter 8: The Showdown of Drathivel and The Forming of Trinity Valor.
Kurt sighs, "Can I walk around a bit? I need a break," Kurt says to Deus, voice lacking hostility. Deus replies, "By all means, go ahead." Deus replies in the same tone. Kurt starts walking into the depths of the Strongcold, Shelby and Min-Jun follow in suit. "Long time, no see," Shelby breaks the silence. "Yeah," Min-Jun replies as Kurt stays quiet.
Suddenly, they fall unconscious. An hour later, Kurt wakes up first, in a dark part of the Strongcold, "Where am I...?" Kurt mutters. Shelby wakes up after, "Kurt...? Is that you?!" He says before pushing himself up. Min-Jun wakes up, "You two!! Thank god!! Something is here with us!!" When they look up, they see Hell Chaos staring back at them, but his form is mutated and disturbed, with white and blue eyes flaring at full power. Kurt speaks, "Is that Bonaparte...?"
Min-Jun replies, "Who else would it be...?" Kurt speaks, "Bonaparte smells of rot...we have to put him out of his misery." All three put their hands together, and in a bright flash, they form into Trinity Valor. Trinity Valor looks up at Hell Chaos. "You disgust me...you smell of rot. YOU WILL DIE IN MY ARMS."
Hell Chaos roars loudly before blowing plasma at Trinity. Trinity blocks it easily before punching Hell Chaos directly in the snout. Hell Chaos rears back and teleports above Trinity and lunges downward. Trinity grabs both jaws and forces them apart before pushing Hell Chaos away. Hell Chaos roars loudly before charging Trinity from below.
Trinity hops out of the way and smashes his fist into Hell Chaos's skull. Its skull shatters into a million pieces in a beautiful explosion of fading blue light and skull pieces. Its long neck falls limp. A puff of black smoke in the shape of Micheal Ray's face comes from the carcass and looks at Trinity Valor blankly before fading into nothing. Trinity Valor looks at it for a second before he starts separating into Kurt, Shelby, and Min-Jun again.
The three slowly get up. Min-Jun speaks, "I'm exhausted, I'm going back." Shelby speaks a little while after, "Me too, man." Kurt speaks, "I am going to walk around for a little bit." Neither of the two protests as they leave.
About thirty minutes later, Kurt is alone in a flooded ruin of what used to be a Strongcold torture chamber. A god has not been here in years, and it is painfully obvious. Kurt kneels and looks down into the water, and after about ten seconds, a large eye opens about a foot beneath the surface. Kurt jumps back like five feet out of instinct. A minute later, Drathivel surfaces from the water.
Kurt looks at the mysterious beast with his brow furrowed. Drathivel hovers there, not floating up and down or anything, eerily still, floating in the air, all eyes glaring down at Kurt. Not aggressive, it is too primal for that. Finding Kurt interesting, Drathivel lightly flicks at Kurt with a massive hand. Kurt flies backward, and he forces himself up, already bleeding and on the brink of death,
Kurt swings at Drathivel, and it hits. Drathivel roars and swings his sharp tail with full force. Kurt ducks beneath it. Kurt uses a Hell Riser on Drathivel. Drathivel groans and flicks again, hitting a stone stake.
Kurt uses a Dropkick from Hell on Drathivel. Drathivel falls over with a roar. Kurt seizes the opportunity and sprints out of the flooded ruin. He pants, now a mile or so away from where the others are, and he nurses his wounds as he leans against a stone stake. He suddenly teleports back to where the others are.
Chapter 9: Cope.
When he is teleported back, he is immediately met with the sight of Deus looking down at him from the floor, along with the other fighters. Deus speaks, "Where were you? What happened to you?!" Deus slams his arm sabers together, and Kurt is fully healed, and his stamina is restored. Kurt speaks, "Big demon thing attacked me." Deus sighs, "I guess that says it all." Everyone just sits down, and the room is filled with a peaceful silence.
Deus sighs, "Prepare to fight. The Fight Palace will start soon."
Chapter 10: Filling in the gaps II
The tournament unfolded much like it always had, with the adrenaline of competition electrifying the atmosphere. Kurt showcased his remarkable skills, effortlessly defeating challenger after challenger, but he faced his toughest opponent yet in Min-Jun. The match was intense, a true test of will and technique, as Min-Jun pushed Kurt to his limits. After an exhilarating battle filled with near-misses and strategic maneuvers, Kurt ultimately emerged victorious, but not without a newfound respect for his best friend’s tenacity.
Having conquered that hurdle, Kurt now found himself preparing for his next fight against Deus. The anticipation in the air was palpable, reminiscent of the feelings everyone experienced before his match with Bonaparte. However, this time, instead of doubt creeping into his mind, there was an overwhelming sense of excitement. Kurt could feel the thrill coursing through his veins—a strong belief that he was on the verge of something meaningful, something that could potentially change his future for the better.
Chapter 11: The Battle for Fighters' History.
"Kurt, you've did it again, can't say I'm surprised," Deus starts, "Very well, I will face you like I said I will, but...I'm not gonna hold back on you. Smite, fire, BLOOD! This will be the highlight of your life...and the end of it!"
The time to fight Deus had come. The Strongcold was silent. Then the fight happened. Deus started rapidly circling Kurt. Kurt punched him out of the circling.
Deus stumbled back as the hit landed. He slashed at Kurt with a heavy arm saber as Kurt threw a punch at his skull. Both hits landed, and both stumbled backward. Deus was full of fury as he kicked at Kurt. Kurt caught his foot and slammed him into a stone stake.
The fight was over as soon as it started. When Deus was down, Kurt ran over to him and slammed his fist down onto his chest and used a brutal Hell Riser on him. Deus started burning from the inside. Kurt jumps back. Deus pushes himself up.
Chapter 12: Fallen tyrant.
Deus coughs up a mix of smoke and golden divine ichor as he burns from the inside due to Kurt's pink flames. "No...how...I am made of pure, raw, celestial power...but...you've won..." Golden ichor sprays across his chest as the fatal wounds slowly take his divine body. His blood leaks from his mouth, bursting from between his fingers. "In my short, cosmic life...I...I've never felt such pain...oh god...it...burns..." The shiny golden blood hardens to stone along with his face and hands. Deus falls to the floor and disintegrates into stone particles.
The Strongcold rumbles, and everything sinks into the ground. Kurt tears himself from the blue rubble. In a blue and white flash, the fighters are enveloped and ready to go back to their time period. Shelby looks at Kurt. Kurt looks at Shelby.
"Kurt, you're the strongest mortal there is now! Officially! Slew two gods...one is an elder god, now...What the hell are ya gonna do now, old man?" Shelby says, grinning slightly. "Honestly, Shelby? I don't know. I lost what I wanted to do years after the second tournament...Honestly, I think I'll just finally listen to my wife and lie down with her for a bit," Kurt says, before mumbling, "I've had it with divinity..." With that, the light reaches its climax.
Chapter 13: Wisdom earned walking the road of life.
All the fighters have gone back to their time periods. The solar storm Bonaparte fought to avert has been averted. The wicked god Deus has been destroyed along with the Strongcold. Humanity is free. Street Wise is over, and now, in modern day, humans live under their own watch, not under the gods' watch.
