Intro: Hi! We are the group of plagiarism. We are working for our PYPX. Our survey target is Grades 8-10. We are doing to this to show how to prevent plagiarism and to know the causes of plagiarism. Our survey is to get ideas from people older than us who has maybe experience plagiarism in the past.

According to the graph, most of the people cite their sources although even though its few some of them occasionally cite their sources, compared to the people who cite all the time it's still very few, which is good. Also very few times not in the graph so it means most of the people is not plagiarizing, which is also good.

A good ammount of people cite their information all the time, but the other half sometimes forget to cite their information or they usually are in a rush. We learned from this that when students are in a rush to finish their work they resort to plagiarism as a last chance. This also means that basic plagiarism is very common at our school.

According to our survey most people are focused to have a good grade so they might want to plagiarize bcause of the pressure or goal to get a good grade. So the focus to have a good grade might effect the need or want for plagiarizing. But the other person might have no pressure so will not want to plagiarize since they dont want a good grade.

49 people answered to have pressure on getting good grades.

21 people said that they will plagiarize with family requirements because people want to show some good grade or good score to their family. Also 11 people plagiarize because of other things and school requirements each which is bad. Also only 3 people do not do plagiarism although compared to the people who plagiarize its a very little amount of number.

11 people plagiarize for school requirements. They probably do it for passing tests, exams etc.
3 people do not plagiarize in family requirements, for school, etc.

According to the graph more than 70 percent of the people dont plagiarize, which is good although more than 20 percent of the people plagiarize when they have many assignments, which is also bad. Still compared to the who dont plagiarize its very little. Which is a good sign.

The majority of people think that the schools method for dealing with plagiarism is fair, as their are certainly other schoolsll with much stricter methods and ways for dealing with plagiarism, and our school is just using the average way for dealing with plagiarism, the fear is not too high and not too low so they think that it is fair. The other minorities think it is weak, because as I have said most universities in other countries have better consequences. And indonesian schools are ussually not very strict when it comes to plagiarism.

15 people says that the school's method is very strict on plagiarism.
4 people says that the school's method is very weak on plagiarism.

A fair amount of people don't know the kind/type of plagiarism checker that their teachers use. Because usually teachers do not inform the students about the plagiarism checker and plagiarism is a more modern problem, students might not know the plagiarism checker since in recent years there are a lot of new trusted plagiarism checkers that have deadly accuracy. But the other fair amount knows, maybe because IB-basedIB-based schools use the same plagiarism checker and there is one plagiarism checker that most high schools and universities have started using.
Data collected:
15 people know plagiarizing detectors that probably most teachers use. Teachers use these to see if students are cheating or not.
17 people don't know any plagiarism checkers that teachers use but hopefully, they don't plagiarise. But if they do then teachers would see.
19 people maybe knows plagiarism checkers that teachers use. This probably means that they maybe know but they are just not sure.

Most people think that the use of electronic tools for checking plagiarism is good or fair. Because usually, digital computers have much more accuracy in modern times. Computers have evolved and have been made to be much more accurate and smarter than what a human can do. So people think that using computers to check for plagiarism is much much better. But the other half think that humans understand English better because humans are the ones who invented English and humans actually has intellegent consciousness.

Most people think that utilizing a plagiarism checker will improve the academic integrity of our school, because using the plagiarism checker means that if students regularly plagiarise or plagiarise will be found out thus it will impose the fear of being caught and students will no longer try to plagiarise. This means that the integrity is improved as they know they can't plagiarise because of fear. The minority of people think that it won't as the fear of being caught is only one single reason and although that fear is strong and common the fear of failing can rival that fear. Thus creating a counter-fear and letting some people still plagiarising, thus not improving the academic integrity.
Data collected:
32 people says yes. Which means that they agree that plagiarism checkers could actually fix school problems that is included with plagiarism.
16 people says that plagiarism checkers could maybe change the schools behaviour
3 people says that plagiarism checkers cannot change the schools problem.

Most people do not know why utilizing a Plagiarism checker will improve the academic integrity of our school. But some people have some good reasons. The reason/thoughts are: Some people think that utilizing a plagiarism checker will improve integrity because some students will be afraid to plagiarize and will be more honest about their work. They will also not plagiarize if the consequences of plagiarism in our school are raised. Some people also think that the students will find other ways of plagiarism. But most people think that the students will be scared to plagiarize after the plagiarism checker is utilized. Because the students will get severe consequences thus they are afraid to plagiarize.
