On 1st October 2025, our lab was visited by Prof. Aris and his family, who spent time exploring our experimental facilities and ongoing projects. His visit provided an opportunity for productive discussions and knowledge exchange, enriching the research environment for our team.
Visit from Prof. Dr. Muralidhar Miryala
We had the honour of receiving Prof. Dr. Muralidhar Miryala from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan on 24 September 2025 for a special visit to our Superconductor and Thin Films Lab. During his time with us, he interacted with our lab members, discussed collaborative ideas and shared valuable insights from his extensive experience in the field.
Visit from Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah & Kisarazu College, Japan
Our lab welcomed students and teachers from Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah together with delegates from Kisarazu College, Japan on 5 September 2025. The visit brought 16 participants who explored our superconductivity and thin film research setups including the demonstration of magnetic levitation from our lab members. Their enthusiasm for science and cross-cultural learning made the visit both lively and meaningful.
Visit from Educational Institution,
Shanxi, China
We were delighted to host a group from an educational institution in Shanxi, China on 26 March 2025. A total of 5 visitors toured our Superconductor and Thin Films Laboratory, gaining firsthand exposure to our research activities and facilities. Their interest and engagement added great energy to the session and we look forward to future academic exchanges.
Visit from Padjadjaran University, Jawa Barat,Indonesia
Prof. Risdiana and his team visited STF lab on 21 October 2024. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mustafa Awang Kechik and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim Kean Pah explained the instruments and facilities around our laboratory.

SMK Dato' Sedia Raja Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.
On 13th August 2024, secondary schools student from SMK Dato' Sedia visited our laboratory as part of their study tour to Physics Department, UPM. Their visits hope to aspire the students to pursue their studies in STEM especially in higher educations. Students were explained briefly about research conducted in STF lab as well as other research carried out in Physics Department in UPM.
Global Modern International School (GMiS), Selangor
On 6th March 2024, 60 students of gred 8 and 9 from GMIS visited laboratories in physics department including our STF lab. This program was meant to give the students exposure of the environment and facilities regarding physics research in university's laboratories besides giving them more understanding about the diversity of physics field.

On 16th October 2023, lecturers from Unhas paid a visit to our STF laboratory; led by our head of physics department, Associate Prof. Dr. Mohd Mustafa Awang Kechik.
SMK Aminuddin Baki, Perak
Students and teachers from SMK Aminuddin Baki school visited our lab on 29th August 2023. The students and teachers were shown and explained of all the instruments and machines available in STF laboratory. This exposure aim to expose the students into science at higher educations level and hope to spark their interest to further their studies in universities especially in science field.
From April 27 until May 10, 2023, Associate Professor Dr. Syahrul from Superconductor Lab, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, pay a visit to our STF lab.
Shibaura Institute of Technology pays a courtesy call to UPM.
Prof. Dr. Muralidhar Miryala who is Board of Councillors, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan, visited UPM on March 13, 2023. During his visits, both parties discussed ways to strengthen SIT-UPM cooperation, particularly in the field of science, including the proposed exchange of students and staff at these two institutions, as well as opportunities for SIT students who want to pursue a double degree at UPM. Besides, Prof. Miryala, also share a talk regarding his research at SIT: development of low-cost and high-performance compact bulk MgB2 magnets at The Faculty of science.
