Pass the Parcel

This piece was written for and performed by the "Party of Four" flute quartet (Piccolo, 2 flutes and alto flute), pictured above as part of their 15 Minutes of Fame Competition. Performed at the Albert Wisner Public Library, New York, on Oct. 15th 2017. The 4 flautists were Kathryn Jones-Pisano, Amy Klein, Kenneth Korn and Deborah Proulx.

The remit was to write a piece of 1 minute's length, so I wrote this jaunty piece of exactly 1 minute where the phrases are quickly passed around the instruments. Careful attention must be paid to the dynamics, articulation and phrasing to hear the parcel being passed around the group!
