蓮生活佛盧勝彥文集第220冊《當代法王答疑惑》「還淨法的疑惑」
♦ 032還淨法的疑惑
人問:
「還淨法一定要親自向根本上師懺悔嗎?可是能與盧師尊見面的機會很少,甚至都沒有,這怎麼辦呢?」
我答:
我先舉一例子說明:
我有一位很虔敬的弟子,在無意中犯下了密教根本十四墮罪。
這位弟子良心極度的不安,一直想跟盧師尊親自的懺悔。
他的國家和盧師尊住的國家距離很遠。
他的服務單位很難請假。
他的簽證始終辦不到旅美簽證。
還有.....。
後來,他在自己家中的小壇城,極盡所能的獻上供養。獻燈、獻花、獻香、獻茶、獻果.....。
然後,很恭恭敬敬的大禮拜。
持四皈依咒,百○八遍。
他雙手合十,跪下,口中述說自己犯下的密教根本十四墮罪。
然後,念懺悔偈子。
如此,他才良心稍安。
當夜,他在夢中,看見盧師尊現出丈六金身,頭頂有光,眉心有光,雙耳有光,心際有三道光明,雙手有光,雙腳有光。盧師尊的雙手摩撫該弟子的頭。
弟子覺得一陣清涼,從頂上灌入,一下子充滿了全身,全身一陣舒暢。一剎那之間,弟子彷彿覺得罪障全消了,身子也輕了。
夢中的景象,還看見盧師尊騎著天馬,載著他,在虛空中飛行。
他一覺醒來。
自己深深明白,盧師尊已經明白了他的懺悔,也以甘露灌頂,還自己的清淨。
弟子還聽見──
盧師尊說:
「還淨了!還淨了!」
♦ 密教通常有「皈依境」做觀想用:
一、在八功德水的池中,生長著如意的寶樹。
二、前方的樹枝上,坐著釋迦牟尼佛及十方三世賢劫千佛所圍繞。
三、在如意寶樹的正中央,坐著根本上師盧師尊,其上方是歷代祖師。
四、歷代祖師的最頂端是大日如來、佛眼佛母、阿彌陀佛、蓮花童子。
五、根本上師的右方樹枝上是三怙主,文殊菩薩、金剛手菩薩、觀音菩薩,正是三怙主。及八大菩薩。
六、根本上師的左方樹枝上是舍利弗、目犍連為首的大聲聞眾。
七、根本上師左右上方坐著瑤池金母、阿彌陀佛、地藏菩薩。本尊。
八、根本上師的正下方,站立護法大威德金剛。
九、大威德金剛之左右分列五大金剛、八大明王。
十、在所有枝葉的間隙,都有空行勇父及空行勇母。空行勇母,是四方守護女神,八方守護女神,二十天守護女神。
十一、在根本上師的後方,可置放三藏十二部經藏,及密教的一切續經。
如果弟子依此觀想「皈依境」,供養「皈依境」,禮拜「皈依境」,皈依「皈依境」,在「皈依境」前行懺悔法。
直至懺相出現。
這也就是「還淨法」。
密教的修法,以觀想、持咒、入三昧地,為主要的修法。
觀想非常重要。
在見不到根本上師時,「還淨法」以觀想修也。
備註:
除了聖尊書中提及的金剛明王,《真佛宗皈依境》還包含本宗的誓盟護法 - 大力金剛和摩利支天菩薩。

032 Questions Related to the Purity Restoration Practice
Someone asked:
“Must one personally repent in front of one’s root guru as part of the Purity Restoration Practice? For most disciples, there is little or even no opportunity to meet with Grand Master Lu. What should one do?”
My response is:
Let me explain by providing you an example:
I have a very devout disciple, who had inadvertently broken some of the Fourteen Vajrayana Root Precepts.
The disciple’s conscience was extremely restless. He always wanted to personally repent to Grand Master Lu.
The country he lives in is far away from where Grand Master Lu lives.
It was very difficult for him to ask for a leave of absence with the company he served.
His visa application to visit America had always been rejected. There were other difficulties.
Later, on a small altar in his own home, he offered all that he could. These offerings included candles, flowers, incense, tea, fruit, and much more.
Then, he performed full prostrations very respectfully.
He recited the Fourfold Refuge Mantra one hundred and eight times.
He put his palms together, kneeling on the ground, and recounted his failures against the Fourteen Vajrayana Root Precepts.
Then, he chanted the repentance verse.
By doing so, his conscience settled down a little bit.
During that night, in his dream, he saw a sixteen-foot body of Grand Master Lu. There were lights on Grand Master Lu’s head, brow-point, ears, hands, and feet. There were three lights on his heart chakra. Grand Master Lu used his hands to pat the disciple’s head.
The disciple felt a cool flow, pouring down from the top of his head, quickly filling his whole body. His whole body experienced a burst of comfort. At that moment, the disciple felt that his hindrances had totally disappeared and his body also felt lighter.
In the dream, he also saw Grand Master Lu riding a horse, carrying him, and flying into space.
He woke up and deeply understood that Grand Master Lu had learned of his confession and that Grand Master Lu utilized the Sweet Dew Empowerment to purify him.
The disciple also heard Grand Master Lu say: “Purity restored! Purity restored!”

In Vajrayana Buddhism there is the “Refuge Tree,” which one uses for contemplation:
First, the wish-fulfilling jewel-tree is growing in the pond of eight meritorious virtues.
Second, Shakyamuni Buddha is sitting on the front branches surrounded by the one thousand buddhas of the ten directions and the three times of this Bhadrakalpa.
Third, the root guru, Grand Master Lu, is sitting on the middle branches of the wish-fulfilling jewel-tree, and above him are the ancient patriarchs of the past.
Fourth, above the ancient patriarchs, in descending order there are Vairocana Tathagata, Buddha Locana, Amitabha Buddha, and Padmakumara.
Fifth, sitting on the branches on the right-hand side of the root guru, in addition to the eight Great Bodhisattvas, are the Three Principal Bodhisattvas, Manjushri Bodhisattva, Vajrapani Bodhisattva and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Sixth, sitting on the branches on the left-hand side of the root guru is the group of great arhats led by both Sariputra and Moggallana.
Seventh, sitting above both the left and the right hand sides of the root guru are the Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, Amitabha Buddha, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and other deities.
Eighth, standing right below the root guru is the dharma protector Yamantaka.
Ninth, on the left and right sides of Yamantaka, there are the five Herukas and the Eight Great Luminous Kings.
Tenth, in all the gaps between the branches and leaves, there are dakas and dakinis. Dakinis include the guardian goddesses of the four directions, the guardian goddesses of the eight directions, and the guardian goddesses of the twenty devas.
Eleventh, on the back of the root guru, one can visualize the Tripitaka and the Twelve Divisions of Sutras, and all sutras and tantras of Vajrayana Buddhism.

If the disciple visualizes the “Refuge Tree,” makes offerings to the “Refuge Tree,” prostrates to the “Refuge Tree,” takes refuge with the “Refuge Tree,” and practices the repentance dharma in front of the “Refuge Tree” until a spiritual response manifests, this is called the Purity Restoration Practice.
In Vajrayana Buddhism, visualization, mantra recitation, and entering Samadhi are the main methods of practice.
Visualization is very important.
When one cannot see his root guru in person, the Purity Restoration Practice can be carried out through visualization.
