Steamworks was the game in 2016-2017, and robots were tasked to score "fuel", in the shape of balls, and gears to prepare for flight. The robots could either shoot fuel balls up into a holder or straight into a holder. The more fuel balls scored, the more points each team got. The higher-up holder gave one point for every three balls scored, and the lower holder gave one point for every nine balls scored. The gears scored to the steamships are used to get the four different rotors, each needing more gears to spin. If all four rotors are spinning, the team gets additional points. At the end of the match, ropes get descended and robots are tasked to climb it. If they do, they get additional points! The team with the most points wins.
