The Shadow Archon is a cut Protoss unit from StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.
Shadow Archon would have been formed by merging two Dark Templar
Early model of a Observer
The Mega Archon is a cut Protoss unit from StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void
The Void Star was a Protoss unit in the beta phase of StarCraft II
Early model of the Stalker
Early model of a Dragoon that was suppose to be in Wings of Liberty
Protoss ranged unit, possibly a early model for the Adept
Twilight Archons required a High Templar and a Dark Templar to merge
Twilight Archons could cast spells like Psi Storm and Feedback
Early model of a Archon
Cut Protoss anti-infantry unit that had the Veterency ability
Can replicate any unit (except massive) and copy all upgrades of targeted unit
Early model of a Mothership
Early model of a Reaver
Originally called War Ship during development
Ground unit spell caster, can cast Force Fields, Null Void, Anti Gravity, Hallucination, and Molecular Displacement. Was also a detector
Early model of a Phoenix that could attack both ground and air
Model of an Ecort said to be a Carrier's more advanced/deadly Interceptor
Concept art for a Protoss tank in StarCraft II
Produced by the Tempest like the Carrier Interceptors
Unlike interceptors, the Shuriken made melee attacks
Hovering unit, attacks can slow enemy movement and fire rate. Can also cast Force Fields
An elite Tal'darim Phoenix that could attack both ground and air units
Early model of a Zealot that is unarmored
The Arachnipod was a unit concept for StarCraft II. It was a hovering mechanical unit with no attack, but with a Stasis Web that could pick up smaller units and trap them
The Shaman was an unused Protoss unit that was concepted for StarCraft II. It utilized a technology known as the "Shaman Crown" as well as plasma shields
The Soul Reaver was a Protoss unit concept for StarCraft II. It had the ability to store the "souls" of nearby fallen Protoss units, and use them to rebuild the units or to use powerful weapons. Units too far away would not have their "souls" stored
Disruptor early model
Aerial support unit that could detonate in battle and use Hallucination. When deployed could cloak nearby units.
The Signifier was intended to be the Nerazim variant of the High Templar. Permanently cloaked and moves faster than the normal High Templar, and has the same psi attack they do.
Has Feedback and Crippling Psionic Storm
Early model of a Phase Prism
Early model of a Void Ray
Early model of a Tempest Carrier
Early model of a Carrier
An elite Tal'darim Carrier
Mothership Core during development, was immobile on top of the Nexus
Concept art for a Protoss artillery unit
The Defender was cut during the development of StarCraft II
A Protoss flying unit with unknown abilities
Like the carrier from the original StarCraft and Brood War, the tempest had powerful shields and attacked by launching fighter-type drones called shuriken that surrounded and swarmed a target, doing little damage individually but significant damage when combined whilst maneuvering rapidly, making it difficult to destroy. The drones could be auto-built with a right click, a behavior which was carried over to the carrier.
The Shuriken made melee attacks.
The Tempest was strong against ground targets, but was ill-equipped to handle air-to-air encounters; it had poor air defense as its shields did not activate against air attacks, but the shields took little damage from ground attacks.
The Soul Hunter is a Protoss anti-infantry unit specializing in the use of Void energies. A tier 2 unit, it was produced from a gateway and required a twilight council to be produced.
Similar to a Stalker and an Immortal, it is the Dark Templar equivalent to a Vindicator. The Soul hunter rides into battle via Hoverboards and attack with a ranged lightning gun. After a certain amount of biological enemies have been destroyed, the residual psionic energies, specifically wrath, can be harnessed by the hunter into three more powerful streams. This allows it to slaughter more enemy ground force quickly and efficiently before moving on to more crowded areas.
In support roles, a Soul Hunter can channel dark energies into a friendly unit shifting both slightly out of phase from normal space. While in this form, the linked warriors are invulnerable to any non-psychic attack (Team Fortress 2: Ubercharge). This makes a near, unstoppable combination against enemy forces reliant on physical attacks such as most Zerg strains
The Nullifier was a Protoss Wings of Liberty alpha ground unit introduced in January 2008 to replace the already removed Stasis Orb. The new unit inherited Force Fields from its predecessor and almost immediately gained a new ability called Null Void. Null Void disabled casting of all energy-dependent abilities within the targeted area. This was meant as a direct counter to EMP as a way to balance out Ghosts being moved up to tier 1.5. The Nullifier settled down at tier 1.5, requiring a Cybernetics Core much like the modern Sentry. The balancing troubles surrounding the Null Void subsequently led to its removal. At BlizzCon 2008, the Nullifier had game-play wise almost matured into what would be its final form (the Sentry). However, the departure of its signature move likely spelled the end for this prototype. In mid-2009 it got renamed the Disruptor and a model overhaul soon followed.
