Baseline Assessment is a programme designed for qualitative improvement in Elementary & Secondary Education with an objective to bridge the learning gaps among the students of UT. This is a convergence exercise involving Samagra Shiksha, State Institute of Education, DIET and Directorate of Education. Baseline Assessment, is an accountability framework for improving holistic quality of education which includes learning outcomes of children along with co-scholastic activities and use of resources including community participation.
The Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) has also emphasized on ensuring that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes by 2030. In the UT, Baseline assessment for all the students of class I to X of Govt. and Govt. aided schools has been conducted on 1st September 2022 by the State Institute of Education, Shiksha Sadan to identify class-wise, subject-wise, student-wise learning gaps and the loss of learning due to the break up of schools on account of pandemic and to plan a strategy to improve the learning outcome among the students.
