The Fishing Derby took place on Saturday May 10, 2025 . The Derby started with lines in the water at 12 noon and ran until 1:30pm.
The Derby was a great fun with many of the younger kids catching their first fish! It didn't take long after the bait hit the water for trout to find it and start bending rods. Never underestimate the power of a Superman rod to reel in a big trout! Kids caught a variety of fish including fiesty bluegills, battling bass and flashy trout. Rainbows were the fish of the day as some very nice ones were reeled in. The kids did a great job and hopefully went home hooked on going fishing again.
A big thanks to Dave Messics for organizing the Derby and to the members that helped out.

Bluebird Nest Box Workshop 2020
Learn about the Bluebird and what you can do to be a part of their comeback. Bluebirds live in open country around trees and usually make their nests in natural cavities or nest boxes. Each spring they begin to look for homes. If they choose to live in your backyard nest box, then you'll be entertained as they fill the box with nesting material and raise one, two or possibly three broods over the spring and early summer. Watching the fledglings learn to fly and then seeing how they interact with their extended family is a fun and interesting learning experience for all ages. Bluebirds love to feed on insects on the ground and berries. Invite Bluebirds to live on your property by building and putting up a nest box!
