I am a postdoc at the Unit of Chemical Ecology in Department of Plant Protection Biology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) located at the Alnarp location in October 2021, recruited using the nGICE (next Generation Insect Chemical Ecology) program. My background is interdisciplinary comprising of various scientific fields, i.e., Entomology, Nematology, Behavioral Ecology, Chemical Ecology and Molecular Ecology. I received my PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (KA), INDIA. My life philosophy is “The things that you do should be things that you love and things that you love should be the things that you do……. Imagination should be the center of your life - Ray Bradbury”.

Coming to Sweden from India for postdoctoral studies was an interesting experience and I realized that, be it first world or third world, postdoc situation is messy at all places. Soon, I developed a desire to contribute to the betterment of mental, social and economic well-being of postdocs and being already in Sweden seemed to be an awesome place to start. Hence, I joined as a member of SLUPA in November 2021 and took the position of Vice Chair recently.

I plan to contribute to SNPA in its various endeavors so as to create a strong and well-connected network for postdocs and young researchers to enhance a better flow of information and knowledge for their career development and environment. Also, try to help achieve a better job security for all postdocs already present or coming from various parts of the world to Sweden looking for a bright future up ahead.
