“Integration of Technologies and Applications in Physical Exercise Practice”
Report – Erasmus+ Training Week
Project Title: Integration of Technologies and Applications in Physical Exercise Practice
Location: Vieira de Leiria, Portugal
Dates: 9/06/2025 – 13/06/2025
The Erasmus+ training week was a highly successful and enriching experience for all participants. The program focused on integrating technologies into Physical Education (PE), equipping teachers and kindergarten educators with practical tools, strategies, and ethical guidelines to enhance their teaching practices using digital solutions.
The training followed a structured and engaging agenda, including interactive modules, practical workshops, group work, and cultural visits. Participants took an active role in all activities and evaluated the workshops very positively, particularly highlighting the hands-on approach, the collaborative environment, and the relevance of the content for their professional contexts.
Over the course of the week, participants developed key competencies in the following areas:
Effective use of fitness and health apps and wearable technology in educational settings.
Integration of digital tools into PE lesson planning and assessment.
Analysis of physical activity data to provide student feedback and motivation.
Awareness of ethical issues and data protection (GDPR) in educational technology.
Development of cross-disciplinary and job-related skills, such as reflective thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
The training also provided a meaningful opportunity for intercultural exchange. Participants learned more about Portuguese culture, especially the traditions, daily life, and values of the local communities in Praia da Vieira and Vieira de Leiria. The warm hospitality and openness of the local population greatly enriched the mobility experience.
One of the highlights of the week was the cultural and historical visit, which included several emblematic Portuguese sites:
• Fátima Sanctuary, where participants appreciated the spiritual and historical significance of one of the world’s most important pilgrimage destinations.
• Grutas de Mira D’Aire, an awe-inspiring natural wonder that showcased the beauty of Portugal’s geological heritage.
• Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that provided insight into Portuguese Gothic architecture and the country’s history.
• Sítio da Nazaré and Nazaré, where participants learned about the traditions of Portuguese coastal life and viewed the world-famous surfing waves.
• Penedo da Saudade Lighthouse in São Pedro de Moel, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic and a reflective moment to appreciate the natural and cultural richness of the region.
These visits promoted cultural awareness and deepened mutual understanding among participants from different countries.
Throughout the training, the European values of tolerance, sharing, and democracy were clearly upheld. The atmosphere fostered mutual respect, active listening, and inclusive dialogue. The diversity of backgrounds enriched discussions and enabled participants to reflect on how these values can be reinforced in their own educational environments.
This Erasmus+ training week was a resounding success. Participants left with enhanced digital and pedagogical skills, broader cultural perspectives, and a strong sense of European identity and cooperation. The positive spirit, strong organization, and high-quality content ensured a valuable professional and personal experience for all involved.
We look forward to continuing this collaborative path, promoting innovation in education, and strengthening European networks through future initiatives.
