What, we’re approaching graduation already?!
The University of Toronto Speech-Language Pathology Class of 2025 is thrilled to share our experiences as we near graduation.
Each phase of the program has provided exciting and enriching opportunities; from hands-on placements to engaging coursework, our time here has been nothing short of invaluable. We are growing in confidence as future clinicians and are increasingly inspired by the impact we can have in our field.
As a cohort, we can envision ourselves working with diverse patient populations across various settings—from developmental language disorders to acute care with older adults, and everything in between. As graduation approaches, we’re filled with a range of emotions—some are “thrilled,” others are saying “Finally!” But we all share a sense of anticipation, excitement, and a little bit of nervousness.
Throughout our clinical placements, we’ve gained invaluable lessons that we will carry with us into our professional careers. We’ve learned the importance of considering the community and culture of the patients we serve, the need for flexibility and quick thinking, and the importance of lifelong learning. Above all, we’ve learned to give ourselves grace as we step into this new chapter of our lives.
We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated faculty who have guided us throughout this journey. As we approach the next chapter, we look forward to the opportunity to call you all our colleagues.
See you out there!
