The University of Toronto Speech-Language Pathology Class of 2025 is thrilled to share our experiences as we near graduation.
At the University of Toronto, speech-language pathology students have the opportunity to participate in clinical placements beyond Ontario's borders. Placements abroad allow students to build clinical skills while being exposed to new perspectives and diverse ways of thinking.
The University of Toronto is famous for its world-class research. The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is no exception, producing cutting-edge research which continues to advance the field. In this edition of Research Corner, we highlight updates from labs, including their recent student additions, publications and presentations. We also focus more in depth on the work of one of our Masters students, who is exploring language assessment for multilingual children.

Each year, the Alumni Association sends out a call for nominations for our Distinguished Service Award (DSA), which recognizes alumni of the department who have made outstanding contributions to the field.
This year’s DSA winner is Loralee MacLean, a speech-language pathologist with over 34 years of experience in the world of Augmentative and Alternative communication (AAC).
