Warm greetings from the University of Toronto Speech-Language Pathology Class of 2026!
We’re proud to introduce ourselves and share a glimpse into what has already been a meaningful and memorable start to our journey as future speech-language pathologists.
This year marked many transitions—not only in our personal and academic lives, but also within the program itself. With changes to the Unit 1 teaching team, we welcomed new instructors while bidding farewell to some familiar faces. One particularly special moment for our class was having the honour of taking Applied Audiology with Jo (Dr. Joanne DeLuzio) in her final year before retirement. We are grateful to have learned from her and to carry forward her passion and dedication to the field.
This year has also been marked by personal and collective growth as we adjusted to new academic and clinical environments, and continued to develop our professional identities. Throughout these changes, our class has demonstrated resilience, compassion, and a willingness to embrace the unknown with open minds and collaborative spirits.
In addition to our academic and clinical work, we have also enjoyed opportunities to strengthen our sense of community through events such as Jo's Halloween costume contests, bake sales, fundraising initiatives, and music video filming. We are proud of the supportive and vibrant environment we have created together.
As we look ahead to second year and continue to navigate the diverse and ever changing world, we’re excited for what’s to come and grateful for the people—our faculty, peers, and family—who continue to shape our path.
With appreciation,
The University of Toronto Speech-Language Pathology Class of 2026
