The Following is an in-depth guide for the sixth chapter for Paper Mario: TTYD.
The chapter begins with Mario in his room on the Excess Express. Search by his table for a dried mushroom and behind his lamp for a shine sprite. Go out left and continue past the item shop to room number eight. Searhc by the table there for a star piece. Go left and talk to the guy standing by the door about your threat that you got at your door and he'll say he'll look out for anything suspicious. Go back to the dining car to find everyone huddled around the kitchen. It turns out someone took the stew from the cook. Follow the stew out to the right of the car. Go out the right and go to room three. A toad took it and hid it in his drawer by his bed. Grab the pot and the detective will come in and interrogate the toad. He tells you to follow him to room six. First, take the pot to the cook for a star piece. Go into the room where Pennington the Penguin detective is trying to figure out who's behind the threatening letter. First, you have to interrogate the bob-omb family from room eight. The son will ask for something specific for his birthday. Speak to the waitress in the dining car to help her find her earrings she lost, and the toad in room two to help her find her jewelry. Go talk to the toad guarding the luggage car and then talk to the bob-omb again. Finally. you can go to the front of the car to get the conductors autograph to give to the bob-omb. Give it to the bomb and he'll give you a shine sprite. Talk to the conductor on the left of the car and he'll say that there's a stowaway on the train. Agree to help him find the person. Go to room three to talk to the toad. He'll say that he heard noises from room four. Go in there and use Vivian to go into the shadows. Go back out and talk to him, he'll say that he has a missing blanket but won't give it back unless Mario gets his diary from the luggage room. Go to the conductor on the left of the train and he'll let you go inside. There's a slit where you can turn sideways to go inside and access his diary. If you read it, he'll haunt you'll get a game over. Trade the diary for the blanket, bring it back to the conductor to end the day. The next day, Pennington will be talking to a weasel. He says that he lost his briefcase that contains important papers for a honey explosion. Search in room one for the papers. Give them to the weasel and Pennington will tell you to find Zip Toad. Go back into your own room and you'll find a paper on the ground. Go into the ground by using Vivian and Zip Toad will pop out. You'll have to chase him around and whack him with your paper to stop him. The train has to take a stop at Riverside Station. Zip Toad is taken outside where he's revealed to be Doopliss. Talk to the rich toad and she'll give you thirty coins. Talk to the waitress and she'll give you a star piece. Leave the train and talk to the conductor. He says that something lowered the gate for the tracks and then gives you the key to go in the station to move the gate up. Go inside the station. From now on, you might find Ruff Puffs, Poison Pokeys, and Spikey Parabuzzies.

These enemies are very similar to Piders, Pokeys, and Buzzies, so similar strategies should do. Go through the first room to the second room to the right. Roll into a tube and hit the box to make a staircase. You'll have to navigate through gears by rolling under some and using Yoshi on the other to get the station key. Search behind the part that the key was on for a star piece. Go to the previous room and go through the locked door to the outside platforms. Roll under the first steps for an HP Plus badge. When you reach a yellow box, jump on it for a thunder rage. At the bottom of the stairs make sure to grab the shine sprite. When you reach the dead end, use Flurrie to blow down the posters. You'll reach a tube hole with a bunch of different paths to take. The first time down, take a right at the first split and jump the first pit to fall into the second square hole. This will give you a P-Up, D-Down badge. The next time, hold left while falling and go past whrer you were last time. In the next room, defeat all of the enemies. Then, hit the buttons on the ground with your hammer the same number of times that are written on them. Then, go up the stairs and use Koops to get the shine sprite. In the next room, there's a chest with a pair of ultra boots. If you twist the stick while holding A, you can jump super high and reach and hang from pipes, as well as bump into things to knock them over. Jump over the boxes to the right, then turn sideways to fall down the hole. Use Yoshi to jump over the boxes and super jump to the pipe. If you bonk the platform that the key is on from below it will fall over for you to grab. Go back to the first room and use super jump to get the Close Call P badge. Take the elevator to the basement and bonk the smorgs away with your hammer in order to reach the lever. Throw it to set the crew back on their journey. On the train, you can catch up with the other people on the train, almost especially the conductor, and then go to sleep for the night. In the morning go to the conductor where the smorgs cover the train and the conductor can't see. Go to the baggage area and you can get rid of them by using your hammer. Use your super jump to reach the top of the train where all of the smorgs combine to form the Smorg, which you'll have to fight.

You have to destroy the tentacles first and can be easily destroyed using items. After you defeat him, you'll enter Poshville. Search the clumps of grass and bushes in the right towards the background for a star piece. Check behind the chair on the left for another star piece. In the next area, search the grass for a star piece. Search by the pasta vendor for an inn coupon. Go to the house to the left and enter the slit in the back to enter the back room for an HP Drain P badge. Go to Pohsley Sanctum and Super Jump by the house for a shine sprite. The note inside of the sanctum says that the manager is away, but Pennington the Detective is actually the manager, so he helps you find the crystal star. The Shadows took the crystal star but Pennington leaves out a fake and keeps the real one hidden. Super Jump on the stars on the ground to keep going up and across the bars. When you reach the paper airplane platform, fly across and hit the button with your hammer. It will open a pipe in the center of the room for you to go down, which leads to the background, which leads to the real sanctum. In this room, there are Dark Boos.

They are very similar to boos and shouldn't be too much of an issue. The crystal star is in the center of the room, but if you super jump on the stars instead, you can get an L Emblem badge and a shine sprite. Grab the Crystal Star and end the chapter. The game cuts to a scene with Peach, who talks with TEC, but Grodus finds out and shuts him down. Bowser has a scene as well but fails again to get the crystal star. Go to the rougeport square and use your ultra boots to knock down the chest from the platform below near the inIn this room, at the base of the pipe do a super jump and climb to the platform to the left. Use Bobbery to blow up the wall and go left to get the Defend Plus Badge. Go back to the room with the pipe, this time, jump to the right side of it and climb all the way to the right side of the room. Drop to reach a pipe that leads to the background, go into the house for a star piece. Go back to the first room of the underground, go left, and blow up the pillar with Bobbery. Ride the first platform and then use a super jump to reach the roof to the right. Jump to the right to reach another platform with a column and a shine sprite. Super jump to reach it. Now walk to the area to the left of the area with the fountain in the middle. In this room, go down to the area with the save point and go through the warp pipe going down. This area has a long, spiky fence and arched entry ways on the lowest level. The first arch has a warp pipe, walk to the left of the pipe to enter a secret area. Turn Mario into a boat and go through many rooms to the right until Mario enters a room with three shine sprites and a Defend Plus badge. Go back to the boat room and go right to an area with a block. smash it and go up to reach a chest with an FP Plus badge. The blue switches reveal pipes that go to keelhaul key and poshville. The Petalburg pipe area has a boat section for another shine sprite. GO back to the Thousand Year Door and hold up the crystal star. Spin Jump in front of it for a star piece. The Professor needs some time to study the new area, so he asks for you to come back later. YOu can to Trouble Center tasks or the Pit of 100 Trials in the meantime. Once he's done, he'll tell you that you need to shoot to the moon by using the cannon in Fahr Outpost. Go back to the weasel in Rogueport Docks and talk to him, as any money you invested is returned to you times three. Fall down the grate in West Rogueport and go down to the lower level. Spin Jump on the X in the ground. This will lead to the Flower Saver P badge. Go back up and down the grate again. Hover over the gap with Yoshi, smash the block with your new hammer and go in, down the pipe to start Chapter 7.
