The Following is an in-depth guide for the third chapter for Paper Mario: TTYD.
Your now in Glitzville, a new town to explore. First, go right and spin jump on the blue box to build some steps. Go up and search the chest to get a Power Plus P badge. The building you are standing on is the Juice Bar. Go inside and search behind the desk for a star piece. There's a block right next to the entrance to the Glitz Pit, use koops under it to hit an invisible block so you can reach the block containing a shine sprite. Check behind the bushes near the entrance to the Glitz Pit to find another star piece. Look behind the phone booth in the left side of town to find another star piece. Fill up your items at the hotdog stand or the shop to the left and enter the Glitz pit in the center of the town. Go through the doors forward that you see right as you enter the building. You'll see a scene of the champion of the Glitz Pit, Rawk Hawk, defending his title. On his belt is what appears to be the third crystal star, and you and your partners need to get it. Go through each of the doors on the bottom level that you're already on to reach the backstage area. On one side, there's a box containing the Last Stand badge. Talk to all of the people standing in front of the doors until one of them lets you in to talk to Grubba. Grubba lets Mario into the minor league, where Mario must battle into the major league and then the champion to get the belt. Interact with the game boy advance looking computer terminal to set up the first match against the Goomba bros. the bed in the minor league locker room can fully heal HP and FP but not star power. The way the Glitz Pit works is like any other fight, but there's a set requirement that you have to do in order to successfully defeat the foe. go through the first five fights, starting with The Goomba Bros, which can be easily taken out with Koops. Then, The KP Koopas.

Take these out the same way you would with normal Koopas.

These aren't too hard, and you can damage all of them at once if you use Koops. Next Is the Dead Bones. They are just three Dull Bones, which you can easily defeat them all if you use Koops. Next Is the Spike Storm.

Take out the spinies with Koops and the Lakitu with Mario. After that, one of the other minor league players tells Mario of the hot dog stand outside and how it's coming out with a new egg flavor. Go outside to the hot dog stand. The egg that the player was talking about can't stopping bouncing around. Chase the egg until it lands on top of the stand. To get to it, go right and on top of the juice bar, use the spring and then use the paper airplane platform. Interact with the egg and it'll join your team. About now, you'll get an email newsletter saying that the shop in Boggly Woods is having a sale, which is real, so go down to the Great Tree quickly if you want some items. If you choose to go, talk to Petuni. She'll ask for a question, so ask her who Mario likes best. If you do this she'll give you a Mystic Egg, which replenishes five HP but is best when cooked into meals. Go back to the ring to do some more battles. Next is the Hand-It-Overs.

They can be attacked with pretty much anything, so get them over with quickly. Next is the Mind Bogglers. They just consist of a Pale Piranha, a Dark Puff, and a Pider. Use your strategies from Chapter 2 to defeat them quickly. Next are the Punk Rocks, consisting of three Hyper Bald Clefts.

Make Sure to take these guys out before they charge up. After them is the Bob-Omb Squad.

A high damage screen wipe will take these guys out, or you can wait until they blow up on you. Next, you'll fight the Iron Adonis Twins.

These guys have such high defense that they can't be defeated, and you have to flee them. When Mario returns to the locker room, the egg that was following him around has hatched, and now Yoshi Kid is on your team. If you press X, Mario will ride Yoshi and go significantly faster. If you hold A while riding him, he'll float over gaps to far for Mario to jump. (If you want to know how to manipulate the colors on your Yoshi, refer to the Main Paper Mario: TTYD Page. See the sidebar navigation.) Try the battle against the Adonis Twins again. Now, use gulp twice to penetrate the defense and defeat them. You are now in the major league. Mario is asked to meet with Grubba. Grubba rewards him with thirty coins for making it so far. You are now taken to the major league locker room, where Rawk Hawk comes in wearing a seemingly fake crystal star. You get a mysterious email saying the real star is somewhere else in the Glitz Pit. Search behind the lockers to the left to find an Ice Storm item. Next, fight the Tiny Spinies.

The team consists of two Red Spike Tops, who aren't too powerful and should go down fairly easily. The Next battle is against the Poker Faces, which is just two Bristles. You can use items, including POW Blocks. After the battle, Mario will get yet another mysterious email. This one hinting to go to the Juice Bar. talk to the manager to get a letter and the Super Hammer. Mario receives another email telling him to smash a block in the minor league locker room. Go in the locker room and use your new technique to smash the block. hop up the crates and use Yoshi's hover to reach the Dubious Documents. Go back to the major league locker room and set up the next battle with The Shellshockers.

Very similar to normal Koopas, so deal with them to get to The Fuzz.

After this battle, a piece of cake will appear in the locker room. You can eat this but be careful of a poisonous one that appears later. Eat it to replenish all stats. Next, fight the Magikoopa Masters.

These guys won't put up much of a fight, but be prepared, because right after you defeat them, You'll have to immediately fight Bowser.

Make sure to make good use of your FP and star attacks. They'll prove to be useful. Next, fight Craw Daddy.

If you can beat Bowser, he shouldn't be an issue, as they are both high HP high Attacking enemies. You may want to make use of status conditions like sleep to win this fight. You'll receive another email telling you to go to the phone booth. Go to the phone booth on the left side of Glitzville to get the storage key. go to the locked door in the back area of the Glitz Pit and unlock it. Mario will run into the Mouse thief briefly until getting another email telling him to look for a staircase. Spin jump in the center of this room for a star piece. Use Flurrie's breath on the group of boxes to reveal yellow boxes that Mario can break with his hammer. Do the same thing on the right-side boxes to get a Charge P badge. Hit the blue box on the left to reveal steps to the second floor. At the top of the steps there's a shine sprite. Travel to the left of the room, utilizing Yoshi. Smash the big yellow block and then use Yoshi to get an HP Plus P badge. fall into the hole that was covered by the big block to enter a crawl space. Walk to the right and press A by the grate to listen to Jolene and Grubba's conversation. It turns out that some fighters are disappearing, and that Jolene may have something to do with where the crystal star is. Next, do the fight with Hamma, Blamma, and Flare.

After this fight, a piece of cake appears in the locker room. DO NOT EAT THIS CAKE. It will knock out your partners. Next, Battle Chomp Country.

You can use Yoshi's Gulp for some good damage during this fight. Next, battle the Koopinater.

He can charge, so use Koops's shell shield if necessary. Shouldn't be that tough of a fight. You'll get another email from a different mysterious source telling you to take down all of the posters in the lobby. You can use Flurrie to do this, don't forget the two upstairs. It will reveal a second storage key, which unlocks the second part of the storage room. Go to the storage room and open the new door. Jump over the crates with Yoshi and smash the yellow block. Check behind the three stacked crates for a star piece. Go back to the locker and set up the final match with Rawk Hawk. Instead of immediately fighting him, you'll be locked in another room. Use Flurrie on the right side of the room to blow away a poster revealing a secret exit of the room. Enter the room and go to the right to the toilet. Enter the toilet like a warp pipe. It'll elad Mario back to the major league locker room. Now you can leave and go to the arena. You can now fight Rawk Hawk.

Rawk Hawk will do many airiel moves. One of his is to go to the ceiling and knock items onto Mario. You can mash A to block a good amount of them. You can also knock him off of the beam with Flurrie's body slam ability. After you beat Rawk Hawk, you'll be taken to the champion's room. Jump on the presents to the left and use Yoshi to get across the doorway. Jump to the vent and destroy it with your Super Hammer. You can listen through the vents again to Grubba's plans of getting rid of Mario from the Pit. Grubba leaves to so Mario can bash the vent and hop into his office. Search behind the potted plant for a star piece. Search in the northern part of Grubba's desk for another star piece. Search in the southern part of Grubba's desk for a paper that details Grubba's plans to suck the energy out of fighters for his own personal gain. Grubba will come into the room and then escapes to the ring. Follow him there, do do the battle against Macho Grubba.

He'll upgrade his attacks and how often he can attack per turn. Mist will make attacking him more difficult. Pay attention to what he upgrades to act accordingly. After you defeat him, Jolene reveals that she's been helping Mario the whole time, as she knew something was up about her long-lost brother, the talked about Prince Mush. Afte that you get the third crystal star. You take control of a Peach scene where TEC asks Peach to go to Grodus' desk to find a piece of information and feed it to TEC, who doesn't know. You have to exit and go to the room with the green light. In the lockers, there's a uniform. Use the changing room to put on the costume. It turns out that TEC was built to help conquer the world but because of his love for peach would rather not. It then cuts to a scene with Bowser who goes to the Great Tree in search for the crystal star, when he realizes he's too late. Back in Rogueport there are some new areas that you can reach with your new Yoshi Partner. First, go to East Rogueport, where the skull bridge is, go towards the foreground and float across the gap. Hop on top of the crates and stomp on top for a star piece. Use Yoshi to hover across to the other roof and check behind the chimney for a star piece. Walk by the piece of wall by the chimney for a shine sprite. Go behind the houses and hover across the river for another shine sprite. Walk on the roofs to the left to see Grifty the Minstrel. You can pay him coins to hear stories about Rogueport and the Thousand Year Door. Go through Professor Frankley's pipe into Rogueport Sewers. Go down the pipe and then head left. Mario will enter a room with a large ! box. Hit the large yellow box in the center. It reveals a large platform that takes you to a second floor. Grab the shine sprite. Jump down the blue boxes and use Mario's spin jump to flip them. Go back in the other room and use the pipe to enter the room right before the Thousand Year Door. Use Mario's hammer to break the big yellow block to reveal a spring that acts as a shortcut to the Thousand Year Door, so you don't have to go up the stairs every time. Go to the door's pedestal and hold your new crystal star up to it to reveal the next star location. Professor Frankley will mention that after his studies he concludes that the X-Nauts might be using the stars to awaken a powerful force to take over the world. The next crystal star is in Twilight Town, and the pipe there is located in the Rogueport Sewers below West Rogueport. Go to the grate in the road and turn sideways to go through it. Jump across the gap in the ground with Yoshi and grab the shine sprite. There's also a pipe and a door. Use the pipe to go in the background for a platforming challenge and a star piece. Go through the door for a pipe to Twilight Town. The pipe doesn't work unfortunately, so you go to Professor Frankley for help. He says that Darkly the Twilighter probably knows how to get down. He's located through the fake wall to the left of Professor Frankley's house. He has green skin and glowing yellow eyes. If you talk to him, he says that to get through you have to have something on you with your name on it. He'll write your name on the seat of your pants. Go back to the pipe in West Rogueport and go through it to start Chapter 4.
