Ridley's Hideout

The following is an in-depth guide for the fourth area of Metroid.

First, go down and through the left door. Next, shoot the ceiling just by the entrance to find another door. Keep going left here to find a missile expansion. Go back, through the door, and down. Go left to find a room full of Dessgeega.

These enemies are basically stronger Sidehoppers, so you should just be able to dodge them normally. If you bomb right after the lava, you can enter a secret passage below the ground do dodge all of the enemies anway and reach the door on the left side. Go through. Here, there's an energy tank, but a bunch of fake floor in front of it. To get it, run and jump towards it like normal. Fall into the fake hole and go right until you find a room with a tough jump to make. On the other side of the jump is a door that leads to a Missile Expansion, so if you miss the jump, it isn't that big of a deal, and you can always come back. You need to fall down the hole anyway and go left. Here, you'll find Violas.

These are like other enemies you;ve faced off against as they just stick to walls and go around, so they have the same predictable movement patterns. Keep moving to the left and you'll find a room where you'll face off against Ridley.

This guy is even easier to defeat then Kraid, as you use the same strategy. Get very close to him without touching him and spam missiles. His attacks will go straight over you're head, and you'll defeat him quickly for another 75 missile expansion. Roll into a ball and head to the left, bombing up and shooting missiles into the door. The lava in this room is mostly fake, so just jump over to the left where you can get an Energy tank. Keep heading right, past the Ridley room until you reach a shaft and you can't go further right anymore. Go ll the way up to the very top of the shaft and through the left door. Head left and you'll find the elevator room again. Go back to Brinstar and the first shaft you usually see. Go to the very top of this area and go left through the top room. Go to the left until you can't anymore. You'll find a statue of Kraid and Ridley. shoot both of these and a bridge will appear. Roll under it to the other side. Go down the elevator to enter Tourian.
